Attending the meeting at the Hue location were the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee, Nguyen Khac Toan; the Standing Committee member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Hoang Hai Minh; and representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and localities.
Due to storms and floods at the end of 2025, in provinces and cities from Quang Tri to Lam Dong, 1,597 houses were destroyed or swept away and needed rebuilding, and 34,759 houses were damaged and needed repair. With the goal of ensuring every household has a home to celebrate the Lunar New Year, the Prime Minister launched the "Quang Trung Campaign" to rebuild and repair houses for households whose homes were damaged by storms and floods in the Central region.
Following the Prime Minister 's directive, ministries, sectors, and localities have continued to promote the "Quang Trung Campaign," and to date, 1,046 out of 1,597 houses for the people have been rebuilt, reaching 65.5%. The remaining houses to be rebuilt have all been started, with construction progress reaching 60-80% of the total volume. The Prime Minister has directed that efforts be continued to build upon this success, completing the reconstruction of houses for the people by January 15, 2026, helping people stabilize their lives and simultaneously achieving accomplishments to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party.
In Hue, 40 houses were damaged and needed repair, and this has now been completed, achieving 100% of the plan. Five houses were destroyed, collapsed, or swept away by floods and need to be rebuilt; to date, 3 out of 5 have been completed, with the remaining 2 at approximately 85% completion; they are expected to be finished before January 12, 2026.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the ministries, sectors, and localities, especially their leaders, for their active and effective implementation of the "Quang Trung Campaign." With the goal of ensuring that no one is left homeless by January 15, 2026, the Prime Minister urged the entire local political system to mobilize maximum resources, especially the Army, Police, and socio-political organizations, to contribute and work together with "speed, even greater speed," with the spirit of "working three shifts, four teams," "overcoming the sun, conquering the rain, not giving up in the weather"... so that the "Quang Trung Campaign" can be completed on schedule, for the joy and happiness of the people.
The Prime Minister requested that localities urgently restore electricity, water, telecommunications infrastructure, environmental sanitation, and transportation; especially review the essential needs of the people, particularly appliances such as televisions and refrigerators; mobilize resources and call for support so that all citizens can enjoy the festive atmosphere, follow the 14th National Party Congress; enjoy the achievements brought by the Party and the State to the people, and celebrate the Lunar New Year in a warm, safe, and healthy manner.
The Prime Minister proposed providing support of 5 million VND per household to 34,759 households in 8 central provinces and cities whose houses need repair, and 10 million VND per household to nearly 5,000 households nationwide whose houses were destroyed or swept away and need to be rebuilt since the beginning of the year, to help them restore production and purchase essential supplies and equipment.
Emphasizing that the "Quang Trung Campaign" was a campaign of profound humanitarian significance, the Prime Minister called on all levels, sectors, localities, organizations, individuals, and businesses to continue to respond; requested a compilation of organizations and individuals who made significant contributions to the "Quang Trung Campaign" in order to promptly encourage and reward them; and urged continued dissemination of information, promotion of exemplary cases, and the drawing of lessons learned for the implementation of future movements and tasks.
The "Quang Trung Campaign" is expected to end on January 15, 2026.
