Following its debut at CES 2026, Samsung plans to hold its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year in February. At this event, the South Korean company expects to unveil the Galaxy S26 series, alongside several other products.
Compared to previous years, this year's event is being held later (February instead of January). Rumors suggest that adjustments in product strategy forced Samsung to postpone the launch date. According to leak expert Evan Blass, this event may take place on February 25th.
Based on rumors, the Galaxy S26 is expected to remain largely unchanged from its predecessor. Samsung will continue to focus on improving performance with a better processor, screen, and camera. However, the price of the product in the current market remains a big question mark.
Key upgrades on the Galaxy S26
According to Engadget , Samsung is likely to stick to a safe approach with the Galaxy S26, launching three versions: the standard S26, the S26+, and the S26 Ultra.
Leaked images reveal that the product design hasn't changed much compared to the Galaxy S25, featuring a flat front, rounded edges, and a vertically arranged camera module on the back, surrounded by a pill-shaped protrusion.
In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. However, Yonhap News Agency (South Korea) reports that the device may use the Exynos 2600 chip in some markets, a strategy Samsung has previously employed.
The most notable difference between the Galaxy S26 and S25 may come from the screen. According to the specifications shared by leaker Ice Universe , the screen size is expected to increase from 6.2 to 6.3 inches, while maintaining Full HD+ resolution, and the battery capacity may also increase to 4,300 mAh.

Samsung is said to be keeping the camera specifications on the Galaxy S26 unchanged, with a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10 MP telephoto camera, alongside a 12 MP selfie camera.
Regarding pricing, the Galaxy S26 is expected to maintain its starting price of $800 , although some rumors suggest the device may increase in price by at least $30-$50 in South Korea. This is due to a shortage of memory chips, causing component prices to skyrocket.
With the Galaxy S26+, the upgrades are even smaller. Besides the new Snapdragon chip, the device will likely retain the same 6.7-inch Full HD+ display, 4,900 mAh battery, 12 GB of RAM, and camera specifications as the standard S26.
Previously, rumors suggested that the Plus version would be removed from the Galaxy S26 lineup and replaced by the S26 Edge. However, due to disappointing S25 Edge sales, Samsung reportedly canceled development of the S26 Edge in October 2025, deciding to bring back the Plus model instead.
Sources citing industry experts suggest that Samsung initially intended to utilize the OLED display already developed for the S26 Edge in the S26+. However, due to tight development timelines, the company decided to use a panel with similar specifications to the S25+.

Compared to the other two versions, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to have more upgrades. According to Android Headlines , the metal bezel surrounding the camera has been redesigned, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro. This change enhances the product's premium feel.
The 200MP camera on the S26 Ultra is expected to have a wider aperture, allowing it to capture more light. Meanwhile, the 3x zoom camera may also feature a higher resolution.
Samsung may return to using an aluminum frame on the S26 Ultra after two generations of titanium frames. The company is also developing new technology to receive signals from the stylus, helping to remove the limitations surrounding the Qi2 wireless charging standard.
According to the latest rumors from SamMobile , Samsung is trying to keep the price of the Galaxy S26 Ultra similar to last year (around $1,300 ). However, the company may cut back on some pre-order incentives, such as doubling the storage capacity for early buyers.
Other products worth waiting for
The Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro, launched by Samsung in 2024, feature a new design quite similar to AirPods Pro. The Galaxy Buds 4 series is expected to retain this design. However, according to leaked images from the Samsung Tips app, the new earbuds will have a smaller charging case and earbud heads that are less angular.
The Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro will support head gestures to answer and reject calls. Apple also includes this feature on the AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4. According to SamMobile , the new earbuds also integrate a UWB chip, supporting better location tracking with Google's Find Hub network.
Another highly anticipated device is the Galaxy Z TriFold. It was released in limited quantities in China and South Korea, and was available for pre-order in the US, quickly selling out. The company may announce it in more key markets in the near future.

Software is also a detail worth looking forward to. In June 2025, Bloomberg reported that Samsung was preparing to reach an agreement with Perplexity to integrate an AI-powered search engine into its browser and the customizable One UI interface.
Previously, Perplexity and Motorola reached a similar agreement in April 2025. Images shared by Samsung on the One UI 8.5 beta show Perplexity's search feature integrated into the Bixby assistant. Therefore, it would not be surprising if Samsung became Perplexity's next partner, despite the South Korean company's close relationship with Google.
