Mang Den market is a place where tourists can learn about the cultural identity of the local people and enjoy local specialties.
Located at an altitude of 1,200m above sea level, Mang Den town is surrounded by primeval forests, pine forests, and numerous lakes, rivers, streams, and waterfalls, creating a unique landscape and cool air year-round.
The Mang Den Market is a new event organized by Kon Plong District in collaboration with the Mang Den Tourism Association, starting on October 7th at the pine hill area of the central square of Kon Plong District. The market was established to create a space for showcasing local architecture, culture, and cuisine , attracting tourists, and promoting tourism and trade in the province.

The market features over 30 stalls from communes, towns, and businesses and individuals within the district. The stalls are simply decorated with readily available materials, mainly bamboo, wood, and brocade fabric, reflecting the unique identity of the local people.

The stalls display and introduce characteristic products such as organic vegetables, pomelo, oranges, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, various medicinal herbs, products made from medicinal herbs, traditional craft products, and many other OCOP products for visitors to enjoy and purchase.

The Mang Den market takes place both during the day and at night.
Many local specialties are sold, such as village rice, grilled chicken with bamboo rice, smoked buffalo meat, grilled village pork, grilled carp, grilled crab, buffalo horn-shaped cakes, wild bitter melon, bitter eggplant, wild bamboo shoots, chestnuts, and wild yam seeds. The market also offers medicinal herbs such as ginseng, Gynostemma pentaphyllum, Ganoderma lucidum, Ganoderma lucidum, wild honey, bamboo shoots, Eucommia ulmoides, and Angelica sinensis.

In the mornings and afternoons, visitors can come here to enjoy the fresh air, learn about the architecture of the longhouses, observe and experience activities such as weaving brocade, making croissants, and enjoying coffee.

Visitors can also admire the gong dance performance of the Mơ Nâm people - a branch of the Xơ Đăng ethnic group.
Local people, dressed in traditional costumes, happily danced and sang around the bonfire.

Every Saturday evening, the market also features a musical performance by local and guest singers.

Simple, traditional dishes like roasted potatoes and corn, and hot milk will help ward off the chilly weather of Mang Den in November.

A tourist enjoys sampling local specialties at the Mang Den market.

Dodo, a local working in tourism in Mang Den, has visited the market many times to meet people in a warm and friendly atmosphere, amidst soothing music. Many locals and tourists also choose the market as a weekend destination.
When mentioning traditional markets, people often immediately think of the northern mountainous provinces. Organizing a traditional market in Mang Den could be a highlight that piques tourists' curiosity and encourages them to experience Mang Den in particular and the sunny and windy Central Highlands in general, Mr. Do said.
