Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Members' Council of Vietnam Railways Corporation, said that the Ministry of Transport is currently developing and submitting to the Government a plan to improve the international rail transport capacity with 8 stations, in which Song Than Station is planned to become a key cargo station in the South. Accordingly, the Corporation will form two railway lines: Song Than - Dong Dang, Song Than - Lao Cai. From here, goods traveling by rail from Binh Duong will connect with China and other countries on the Asia-Europe rail transport route. Song Than Station has the advantage of having been granted an intermodal code, Binh Duong's early completion of site and security requirements will further promote the efficiency of international transport. In particular, doing import-export procedures at the station will create great favorable conditions for the province's import-export enterprises.
On the basis of noting the proposals of the Vietnam Railways Corporation, Mr. Vo Van Minh suggested that the Customs Department, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Transport - soon complete the requirements on premises and security, implementing import-export procedures at the station to reduce the time and cost of transporting goods for businesses. Binh Duong will always create conditions for the Vietnam Railways Corporation to clear the ground, focus on investing in renovating and improving the customs clearance capacity, warehouse system, etc. to effectively exploit and develop the intermodal station.
