Speaking with a reporter from the Government Online Newspaper on the morning of February 11th, representatives from the GO! and Tops Market supermarket chains stated that the shopping atmosphere is becoming extremely lively. Consumer purchasing power has begun to increase sharply, with the number of customers flocking to supermarkets currently 3-4 times higher than usual. The product categories showing the most impressive growth are focused on gift-giving and preparations for the traditional Tet holiday, specifically: Tet gift baskets and gift boxes; beverages such as beer, soft drinks, and various types of soft drinks; and gift items such as specialty products and high-end confectionery.
A representative from the supermarket chain stated that to serve customers during the peak period, the supermarket had made thorough preparations well in advance.
"Regarding supply, we have been working with suppliers for the past 4-5 months to finalize the quantity of goods and ensure a stable supply. As for operations, our warehouse system has been expanded, and we have maximized our human resources to ensure the best possible service. We have requested suppliers to make specific commitments regarding delivery schedules, especially for essential seasonal goods during Tet. Therefore, customers can rest assured that they can shop according to their needs without having to stockpile too early; we guarantee that our shelves will always be fully stocked," this person said.
GO! and Tops Market supermarket chains are maintaining the most attractive and stable prices for consumers through programs such as "Price Lock," especially for pork products which are sold at no profit. In addition, the supermarket chains are also running a promotional program from February 11th to February 20th, 2026, offering discounts on many product categories, including fresh food, essential consumer goods, household items, and Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts.

Proactively build a diverse list of Tet holiday goods.
According to a representative from WinMart Thăng Long supermarket, the purchasing power for Tet 2026 continues to maintain positive growth across the WinMart and WinMart+/WiN systems. Total system revenue increased by over 23% compared to the same period last year, indicating that Tet shopping demand remains high despite consumers tending to be more cautious about their spending.
Traditional Tet holiday items such as confectionery, beverages, and essential household goods continue to account for a large proportion of consumers' shopping baskets.
To ensure a stable supply, WinMart proactively builds a diverse range of Tet holiday goods, focusing on key product categories such as confectionery, beverages, rice, cooking oil, and fresh produce. Specifically for rice, the projected production volume for Tet is expected to increase by 20% compared to normal, meeting the increased consumer demand.
Preparing inventory in advance helps the system avoid localized shortages and creates room to maintain stable prices throughout the peak season.
At this supermarket chain, a price stabilization program is implemented throughout the period before, during, and after Tet (Lunar New Year). Essential fresh produce such as pork, beef, chicken, and seafood are maintained at stable prices, without price increases during the peak period.
Alongside price stabilization, promotional programs are also being strongly implemented. WinMart is organizing the "Tet Shopping Star" program from February 4th to February 13th, 2026, while WinMart+/WiN is offering a series of promotions lasting until February 24th, 2026, with discounts of up to 50% on many Tet holiday product categories. The combination of price stabilization and promotions helps maintain purchasing power and creates a sense of security for consumers amidst increased year-end spending.
