The period from May to September each year is always the peak of hot weather in Hue City, leading to a surge in electricity consumption, especially in households. The simultaneous use of cooling devices such as fans, air conditioners, and refrigerators causes many households to face skyrocketing electricity bills. In response to this situation, Hue Power Company has proactively implemented various activities to guide people in adjusting their electricity usage habits to be more rational, efficient, and economical.

Examples like the family of Nguyen Trung L. (Thuan Hoa ward) or Mr. Le Tan V. (Thuy Xuan ward) demonstrate the effectiveness of saving electricity by: utilizing natural light, arranging the house for good ventilation, only using cooling devices when absolutely necessary, maintaining air conditioning at 26 degrees Celsius or higher, and turning off electrical appliances when not in use… These small actions have a significant impact in reducing financial pressure on families, while also contributing to the protection of national resources.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dai Phuc, Director of Hue Power Company, in implementing Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023, of the Prime Minister and the direction of the Central Power Corporation, Hue Power Company has aggressively and effectively implemented many energy saving solutions since the beginning of 2025. To date, the total energy saving output in the city has reached over 26.29 million kWh, accounting for 2.42% of the total commercial electricity output, exceeding the planned target. At the same time, Hue Power Company has coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade to advise the City People's Committee on the issuance of important documents, such as approving the list of priority customers for electricity supply and directing the management of electricity supply during the dry season from 2025-2030.

Improving the electrical system and supporting a safe power source will help people reduce their electricity consumption effectively.

Notably, Hue Power Company actively coordinates with public lighting units to adjust the intensity and duration of lighting during peak months, thereby reducing pressure on the city's power system. Hue Power Company also proactively reports to the Hue City People's Committee on monthly energy saving activities, providing the locality with timely information and enabling closer management.

All five main load groups met and exceeded the energy saving targets as stipulated. In particular, Hue Power Company signed load shifting agreements with 93 large customers (consuming over 1 million kWh/month), with a total potential shift of 6.66 MW. In addition, 138 large load measurement points registered for the non-commercial load adjustment program, with a total potential reduction of approximately 16.3 MW, contributing to reducing pressure during peak hours.

  Strengthen communication and apply technology.

Recognizing that communication is key to changing electricity usage behavior, Hue Power Company (PC Hue) has diversified its communication methods, from traditional to modern. The "Electricity Saving Handbook" compiled by the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been widely disseminated to its staff and spread throughout the community.

Instructing people on how to use electrical appliances.

  On digital platforms, Hue Power Company actively updates its communication content through its Facebook fanpage, the EVNCPC Customer Service application, and the Hue-S platform. Information on proper use of electrical equipment and advice on reducing household electricity bills is conveyed in an easy-to-understand and engaging way, making it easy for people to apply.

Hue Power Company (PC Hue) collaborates with agencies and businesses to implement the installation of rooftop solar power (RSP), in accordance with Decree 58/2025/ND-CP, encouraging households and businesses to produce and consume their own electricity, reducing dependence on the national grid. PC Hue also actively participates in environmental campaigns such as Earth Hour, World Environment Day, and World Water and Meteorological Day, aiming to spread awareness of energy conservation linked to sustainable development and environmental protection.

Upgrading the electrical grid support system to ensure safety in every residential area.

With proactive, coordinated, and innovative approaches, Hue Power Company (PC Hue) is gradually realizing its goal of building energy-saving habits in the community. For the remaining months of 2025, PC Hue aims to intensify communication during the peak season (July to September), closely coordinating with the government and major electricity consumers to ensure safe, rational, and efficient electricity use, serving the production, business, and daily lives of the people.

In the context of increasingly evident climate change, today's energy conservation actions not only contribute to reducing cost pressures but also represent a shared commitment to a green and sustainable future for Hue and the entire country.
