Strengthening propaganda on electricity saving to households

The period from May to September every year is always the peak of hot weather in Hue city, leading to a sudden increase in electricity consumption, especially in households. The simultaneous use of cooling devices such as fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, etc. causes many households to face skyrocketing electricity bills. Faced with this reality, PC Hue has proactively implemented many activities to guide people to adjust their electricity usage habits to be most reasonable, effective and economical.

Models like the family of Nguyen Trung L. (Thuan Hoa ward) or Mr. Le Tan V. (Thuy Xuan ward) are proof of the effectiveness of using electricity economically such as: taking advantage of natural light, arranging the house to be airy, only using cooling equipment when really necessary, maintaining the air conditioner at 26 degrees Celsius or higher and turning off electrical equipment when not in use... These are small actions but have a significant impact in reducing financial pressure on families, while contributing to protecting national resources.

Mr. Nguyen Dai Phuc, Director of PC Hue informed that implementing Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister and the direction of the Central Power Corporation, PC Hue has drastically and effectively deployed many groups of energy saving solutions since the beginning of 2025. Up to this point, the city's energy saving output has reached more than 26.29 million kWh, accounting for 2.42% of the total commercial electricity output, exceeding the planned target. At the same time, PC Hue has coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade to advise the City People's Committee to issue important documents, such as approving the list of priority electricity customers, directing the operation of electricity supply in the dry season for the period 2025-2030.

Renovating the power system, supporting safe power sources to help people reduce electricity usage effectively

A notable point is that PC Hue actively coordinates with public lighting units to adjust the intensity and lighting time during peak months, thereby reducing pressure on the city's power system. PC Hue also proactively reports to the Hue City People's Committee on monthly power saving work, helping the locality have timely information and operate more closely.

All 5 main load groups have met and exceeded the prescribed TKĐ targets. In particular, PC Hue has signed load shifting agreements with 93 large customers (over 1 million kWh/month), with a total potential shifting capacity of 6.66 MW. In addition, 138 large load measurement points have registered for a non-commercial load adjustment program, with a total potential reduction capacity of about 16.3 MW, contributing to reducing pressure during peak hours.

  Promote communication and technology application

Identifying communication as the key to changing electricity usage behavior, PC Hue diversified its propaganda forms from traditional to modern. The "Electricity Saving Handbook" compiled by the Ministry of Industry and Trade was widely disseminated to staff and spread to the community.

Instruct people on how to use electrical appliances

  On the digital platform, PC Hue actively updates propaganda content via Facebook fanpage, EVNCPC CSKH application and Hue-S platform. Information on how to use electrical equipment properly and advice on reducing household electricity bills are conveyed in an easy-to-understand and vivid way, helping people to easily apply.

PC Hue coordinates with agencies and enterprises to deploy rooftop solar power installation (RTSP), according to Decree 58/2025/ND-CP, encouraging households and businesses to produce and consume on their own, reducing dependence on the national grid. PC Hue also actively responds to environmental campaigns, such as Earth Hour, World Environment Day, World Water-Meteorological Day... to spread awareness of E&P associated with sustainable development and environmental protection.

Upgrading the system of equipment to support safe power grid to each residential area

With proactive, synchronous and creative activities, PC Hue is gradually realizing the goal of building energy-saving habits in the community. In the remaining months of 2025, PC Hue aims to promote communication during peak season (from July to September), closely coordinate with the government and large loads to ensure safe, reasonable and effective use of electricity, serving production, business and people's daily life.

In the context of increasingly evident climate change, today's climate change actions not only contribute to reducing cost pressure, but also commit to joining hands for a green, sustainable development future for Hue and the whole country.
