(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of July 1, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong received Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama who came to say goodbye on the occasion of the end of his term in Vietnam.

The President congratulated and highly appreciated Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama for his successful term of office, with positive contributions to consolidating and promoting the traditional friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Expressing her impression on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Egypt relations (2023), Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama said that she has proactively organized activities to connect businesses, cultural and artistic exchanges, and at the same time, has many initiatives in promoting the image of the country, culture and people of Egypt to the Vietnamese people, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening solidarity between the two countries.

Through the Ambassador, the President sent his warm regards and best wishes to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi; congratulated Egypt on achieving the goals of “Vision 2030”; and believed that the Egyptian Government and people will continue to gain more victories in the cause of national construction and development.

Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama thanked the President for taking the time to meet her and for his positive comments about her term of office in Vietnam.

The Ambassador said that since taking office, he has received friendship, hospitality and favorable conditions from the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

Noting that Egypt was one of the first countries in the region to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama emphasized that during his lifetime, beloved President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam visited Egypt many times and left a deep impression and admiration for him among the Egyptian people.

The Ambassador also congratulated Vietnam on the achievements it has made in recent years; she believes that with the current restructuring of the administrative management apparatus and strong progress, Vietnam will truly develop and become rich and strong.

The Ambassador also affirmed that the two sides can develop and strengthen cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, culture, science and technology; especially Egypt shares many common goals with Vietnam such as digital transformation, digital economy, economic innovation, security and defense.

Expressing gratitude for the Ambassador and the Egyptian people's affection for President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam, the President emphasized that over the past 60 years, the two countries' cooperative relationship has developed strongly but is still modest compared to their needs and potential.

Therefore, in the coming time, the two sides need to increase meetings and exchanges of delegations, especially high-level delegations; strengthen cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, defense, security, etc. to match the good political relations between the two countries.

Appreciating Egypt's role in the Middle East and North Africa region, the President affirmed that Vietnam wishes to promote and strengthen the bilateral cooperation in an increasingly practical and effective manner, meeting the interests of the two peoples and contributing to the stability and development of the two regions, as well as commensurate with the good political relations between the two countries.

The President stressed that the current world situation is complicated and unpredictable. Based on the good relationship of more than 60 years, the two sides continue to coordinate and support each other at multilateral and international forums, in accordance with the interests of each country as well as on the basis of respect for international law.

The President hopes that in any position, with the special feelings during her term in Vietnam, the Ambassador will continue to have good feelings for Vietnam, contributing to being a bridge to promote cooperation and people-to-people exchange between the two countries./.
