National Assembly Chairman: 'The decisions have been on point, without hesitation or delay'

Speaking at the closing of the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly on the morning of February 19th, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that after 6.5 days of work, the 9th extraordinary session had completed its planned agenda.

According to the Speaker of the National Assembly , at the session, the National Assembly considered and passed 4 laws and 5 resolutions to implement the reorganization of the National Assembly and the Government's apparatus.

At the same time, the National Assembly passed six resolutions aimed at promoting the socio-economic development of the country and specific mechanisms and policies for a number of key national projects and works.

"This is a significant milestone in the process of lawmaking, with great importance in serving the revolution of restructuring and streamlining the organizational apparatus of the political system, and in promptly resolving difficulties and obstacles in institutions and policies, creating breakthroughs to improve infrastructure, unleash resources, and create new development spaces for the locality and the whole country," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

The Speaker of the National Assembly also stated that personnel matters at the session were handled strictly, in accordance with the regulations of the Party and the laws of the State, achieving high consensus and unity among the National Assembly deputies.

Accordingly, at the session, the National Assembly elected two additional Vice Chairpersons of the National Assembly; approved the appointment of two Deputy Prime Ministers. The National Assembly also elected members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and six chairpersons of National Assembly committees; approved the appointment of four ministers; and simultaneously dismissed several ministers and members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to take on other duties.

The Speaker of the National Assembly stated that many delegates have acknowledged that the draft laws submitted to the National Assembly this session contain many new, accurate, and relevant issues, are concise, easy to understand, and in line with the spirit of innovative thinking in lawmaking.

The delegates also affirmed that the timely, objectively necessary, and correct decisions demonstrated the foresight and persuasive basis of the Party and the State; they correctly identified the key issues, without hesitation or delay, to promptly address existing problems, obstacles, and bottlenecks hindering the country's development. At this crucial historical moment for the nation, there must be historic and groundbreaking decisions for the country's development.

Determination, decisiveness, and actions speak louder than words.

However, the Speaker of the National Assembly also clarified that there are still many specific issues in practice that differ greatly and require further research and implementation in accordance with the Constitution, in line with reality, ensuring smooth, feasible, and effective implementation.

"The concerns and worries of the National Assembly deputies are well-founded and need to be given utmost attention in the process of directing, guiding, organizing the implementation, and supervising the work after the laws and resolutions come into effect," the Speaker of the National Assembly said.

The Speaker of the National Assembly also urged agencies, units, and localities to promptly organize and implement the plan with a proactive, creative, determined, and decisive spirit, ensuring that words are matched by actions.

The Speaker of the National Assembly requested the Government to make every effort to develop plans and detailed regulations for the content assigned in the laws and resolutions of the National Assembly.

The Speaker of the National Assembly also requested that relevant agencies urgently review and amend specific provisions in legal documents related to the restructuring of the apparatus that require immediate attention, have a unique nature, and cannot be handled according to general principles, in order to issue them within their authority.

"The National Assembly believes that, under the leadership of the Party; with the involvement of the entire political system, at all levels and in all sectors; with the unity and efforts of the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, and the business community, as well as our compatriots abroad, our country will certainly overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully achieve the goals and tasks set forth, and meet the trust and hopes of voters, the people nationwide, and our compatriots abroad," the Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed.
