Tonight (April 15th), the AFC U-23 Asian Championship will officially open at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar. This is also the venue for the final match of the tournament, which will take place on May 3rd.
The 2024 AFC U-23 Championship finals will feature 16 teams competing, with matches taking place at four stadiums: Khalifa International Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium, Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium, and Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
The top three teams will qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, with the fourth-placed team facing Guinea in a play-off on May 9th to become the fourth Asian representative to advance to the Games.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan assumes the important role of Head of the AFC Delegation at the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Championship Finals.
In the AFC U-23 Asian Championship, Vietnam U-23 is in Group D along with Kuwait U-23, Malaysia U-23, and Uzbekistan U-23. Vietnam U-23 arrived on April 8th for training and a practice match against Jordan U-23. From April 13th, the team officially began participating in the tournament.
Regarding the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Championship finals, the AFC has appointed Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), as the Head of the AFC Delegation for the event.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), is currently the Chairman of the AFC Competition Committee for the 2023-2027 term; a member of the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term; Chairman of the AFF Competition Committee for the 2022-2026 term; and a member of the AFF Finance Committee.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan was previously appointed by the AFC as the Head of Football Operations at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games and the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and a member of the Organizing Committee for the 2024 Asian Cup Finals in Qatar.
With his prestige and experience in managing important Asian tournaments, the head of the VFF has once again been entrusted by the AFC with a major responsibility at the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Championship finals.
