The investor is concerned that during the rainy season, construction work could cause subsidence, landslides, and flooding in the construction area.

In section 2, from station S7 (Bay Hien station) to station S11 (Tan Binh station), the left branch drainage section towards Ben Thanh - Tham Luong (Queo - Pham Van Bach open excavation section) has completed 22 out of 88 culvert segments, reaching 25%.

MAUR leaders stated that the Board regularly inspects and reminds contractors and supervisory consultants to ensure occupational safety and environmental hygiene. During construction, contractors have deployed personnel to manage traffic flow, install corrugated iron fences, cover and clean up construction areas, and arrange vehicles neatly. They have also arranged access points for residents, avoiding disruption to their daily lives.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hien, most technical infrastructure projects are located underground, making construction very difficult, especially at locations where multiple infrastructure items intersect. Furthermore, constructing technical infrastructure in a cramped urban area with limited space to accommodate all items within a 5-meter radius (including electricity, water supply, and drainage) is very challenging and poses many risks such as water and power outages. "Currently, the city is approaching the rainy season, and the possibility of subsidence, landslides, and flooding in the construction area is unavoidable," the MAUR leader expressed his concern.

Recognizing this issue early on, MAUR has consistently reminded, inspected, and urged contractors and supervisory consultants to strengthen safety measures during construction to avoid potential risks.

The relevant units are working to expedite site clearance so that construction of Metro Line 2 can begin in 2025.

Simultaneously, during the construction process, there is close coordination between all relevant parties, such as the investor, relocation contractors (electricity, water supply, drainage, telecommunications, etc.), and especially the cooperation of property owners (electricity, water supply, drainage, telecommunications, etc.) in agreeing on plans and solutions to optimize construction work, minimize potential risks, and ensure safety throughout the construction process.

Metro Line 2 is a crucial project in the development of the city's urban rail system, completing the transportation network, as well as urban planning and development, and promoting the socio- economic development of Ho Chi Minh City. According to the plan, the relevant units will essentially complete the relocation of technical infrastructure facilities in 2024 to be ready for handover to the main contractor for the construction of the tunnels and stations of Metro Line 2 in 2025.
