FPT Edu Hackathon 2024 Finals: AI Competition from Elementary to University

Nearly 100 contestants compete in the final round ofFPT Edu Hackathon 2024.

28 teams with nearly 100 contestants of the final round of FPT Edu Hackathon 2024 are divided into 4 groups: University group; College - High School - College General Education group; Middle School group and Primary School group.

In the University and College - High School - College categories, the teams participated in programming the product for 27 consecutive hours. The contestants in the Secondary School and Primary categories had 6 hours to develop the software before the teams in both categories entered the presentation and demo of the product. This is a characteristic of the FPT Edu Hackathon tournament, and also the biggest challenge that the contestants must overcome, modeled after the world- famous hackathon competitions.

With the theme "Generative AI", FPT Edu Hackathon 2024 brings one of the most attractive and fastest growing technology trends today into a challenging topic for the competing teams.

The teams need to apply algorithmic skills, be flexible in using programming languages, have the ability to work in groups and ensure the completion of the product to the maximum level within the specified time. In addition, this is also a topic that can promote the creative thinking of FPT Edu students about an "artificial intelligence universe" where there are useful technologies and applications that are used by students in their lives and studies.

Prizes are awarded to the winning teams.

In the end, the victory belonged to the 4 champion teams of the groups: Group A (University group): TechTack - Greenwich Vietnam ( Hanoi campus), Group B (College - High School - High School group): Human team - FPT Polytechnic Can Tho College, Group C (Secondary school group): Sweet Hacker team - FPT Cau Giay Primary and Secondary School and Group D (Primary school group): MD14 team - FPT Da Nang Primary and Secondary School.

The champions of groups A and B applied Generative AI to build intelligent systems, helping to quickly and conveniently solve increasingly urgent needs in life such as: systems to support searching and managing legal documents, systems to support screening examinations at hospitals. The best products of groups C and D conquered the judges by closely following the theme of "Generative AI", application in education, quality and speed of product completion.

The four winning teams will be sent to study and gain experience in Taiwan (China) - "Asia's silicon valley"; the teams participating in the final round of FPT Edu Hackathon 2024 will receive prizes with a total value of up to 300 million VND.

FPT Edu Hackathon is an annual programming competition organized by FPT Education Organization. Maintained over many years, with constantly renewed themes and expanded scale, the competition has become an anticipated event for young people who love technology and programming. Through this, many creative ideas have been suggested, many young programming talents have been discovered, having the opportunity to rub shoulders, learn, improve their capacity and gain steady experience on the journey to pursue their passion.

The competition has brought "Generative AI" closer to real life and more friendly to the public through the products of the competing teams, as well as inspired young contestants to build "made by Vietnam" AI applications.

FPT Edu Hackathon 2024 is also an opportunity for young people who are passionate about programming to hone their skills, listen to sharing about AI as well as the latest technology trends from technology experts who are members of the final round jury.

The FPT Edu Hackathon 2024 final round held at FPT AI University Quy Nhon had the participation of teams from: FPT University Hanoi, FPT University Da Nang branch, FPT University Ho Chi Minh City branch, Greenwich Vietnam Hanoi Branch, Swinburne Vietnam Hanoi Branch, FPT Hai Phong Secondary - High School, FPT Da Nang Primary - Secondary - High School, FPT Cau Giay Primary - Secondary School, FPT Bac Ninh Inter-level School, FPT Bac Giang Primary - Secondary - High School, FPT Hanoi High School, FPT Polytechnic College Da Nang, FPT Polytechnic College Can Tho, FPT International Training Institute.
