Phố Wall vừa khép lại phiên giao dịch đêm qua theo giờ Việt Nam trong sắc xanh nhẹ

Wall Street closed last night's trading session (Vietnam time) in slightly positive territory.

The rally in technology and semiconductor stocks continued to support the market, despite concerns about rising inflation due to soaring oil prices following signs of a stall in US-Iran peace talks.

At the close of trading on Monday, all three major US stock indices rose slightly, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closing at new highs. The market was focused on chip and artificial intelligence (AI) stocks. The semiconductor index rose more than 2.5%, with many large-cap stocks such as Nvidia, Qualcomm, Micron, and Intel all moving higher. However, the market's upward momentum was somewhat restrained by a surge in oil prices after US President Donald Trump rejected a new peace proposal from Iran. This development raised concerns that a prolonged conflict could lead to renewed inflationary pressure in the US.

Ross Mayfield, an investment strategy analyst at Baird, noted that the semiconductor and AI infrastructure stock boom has now carved out its own trajectory and appears no longer to be influenced by typical market news or announcements.

Meanwhile, the first-quarter earnings reporting season is drawing to a close, with 440 companies in the S&P 500 having released their figures. According to data from LSEG IBES, 83% of these companies exceeded expectations.

As earnings season draws to a close, market focus is shifting back to macroeconomic and geopolitical factors. President Donald Trump's rejection of Iran's response to the US peace proposal has sent crude oil prices soaring. This has raised concerns that a prolonged conflict will continue to put pressure on inflation, particularly gasoline prices.

Given this situation, investors will closely monitor US economic indicators released this week, particularly the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and retail sales. These data will help determine whether the continued rise in energy prices is spreading into widespread inflation or impacting consumer spending. Additionally, the producer price index and industrial production figures are also important data releases this week.

Another notable development is the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, scheduled for later this week. The talks will cover a range of key issues, including the conflict in Iran, trade, AI, and the potential renewal of a crucial agreement on rare earth minerals.
