Drug abuse has always been a deep concern for the entire society. June 26th is World Anti-Drug Day and also Vietnam's National Anti-Drug Day, an occasion for us to recognize and raise awareness among everyone in preventing, combating, and eradicating drug abuse.
Unaware of her addiction and becoming completely dependent on drugs, Ms. NTL, a trainee at the Vinh Phuc Provincial Drug Rehabilitation Center, gradually lost everything: her family, job, money, and health. After many days of treatment to overcome her drug addiction, Ms. L finally woke up to the dangers of drugs to herself, her family, and society.
Due to his carefree and reckless lifestyle, Mrs. NTG's son became addicted to drugs without her even realizing it. Seeing her son, whom she had given birth to, wasting away due to the effects of drugs, this suffering woman was heartbroken. To save her son, Mrs. G discussed the matter with her family and decided to overcome her grief and send her son to the provincial drug rehabilitation center for treatment.
In recent years, drug addiction treatment in the province has achieved positive results. Various forms of rehabilitation have been implemented, such as home-based rehabilitation, community-based rehabilitation, rehabilitation at drug rehabilitation centers, and methadone replacement therapy, providing many addicts with the opportunity to choose a suitable rehabilitation option and rebuild their lives.
Currently, the province still has over 1,500 registered drug addicts. To gradually eliminate drug abuse from the community, the involvement of all levels and functional agencies, as well as the cooperation of the people, is essential, all with the common goal of building drug-free communes, wards, and towns.
