Let's work together to eliminate temporary housing.

Việt NamViệt Nam21/08/2024

With the attention of the local Party committee and government, and the joint support of agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists through the "For the Poor" Fund, many poor households and households with particularly difficult circumstances in Yen Lap district have been able to settle into solidarity houses, helping them alleviate difficulties, rise out of poverty, and stabilize their lives.

Let's work together to eliminate temporary housing.

Leaders of Yen Lap district presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Van That in Lien Hiep area, Xuan An commune, on the day of the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a solidarity house.

Implementing the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind," the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Lap district has coordinated and done a good job in social welfare work and mobilized support for the "For the Poor" Fund.

Over the past five years, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district has called for and mobilized support for the "For the Poor" Fund, raising more than 2.7 billion VND; and coordinated support for the repair and construction of 150 solidarity houses for poor households with a total amount of 6.7 billion VND.

The Fatherland Front at all levels, in coordination with its member organizations, actively mobilized support and organized visits and Tet gift-giving to 23,273 poor people and influential figures in the community, and mobilized support for people in the district and central provinces affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods...

Many poor households received support to build houses, such as the family of Ms. Dinh Thi Thom in Mo area, Yen Lap town; Mr. Phung Van Chinh in Quyet Tien area, Minh Hoa commune; Mr. Sa Dinh Bich in area 7, My Lung commune; the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Xinh in area 7, Xuan Vien commune...

The effective implementation of activities for the poor, social welfare programs, and humanitarian charity by the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Yen Lap district has helped poor households, poor people, and vulnerable groups escape poverty sustainably, have a more fulfilling life, contribute to improving the quality of life of the people, and reduce the poverty rate by an average of 1.4% per year.

As a mountainous district facing many difficulties, Yen Lap district currently has a poverty rate of 10.13% and a near-poverty rate of 8.13%. In 2024, the entire district still had 150 poor households in need of replacing temporary housing, of which 95 households were in particularly difficult circumstances and unable to contribute to building houses. With a spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance, ensuring no one is left behind, the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, member organizations, businesses, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the district continue to mobilize and contribute to support the poor, vulnerable, and those affected by natural disasters and epidemics... to have solid, sturdy houses and stable lives.

During the emulation campaign to celebrate the 15th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029, with support of 50 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund, the construction of solidarity houses for the families of Ms. Phan Thi Den in An Lac area, Dong Lac commune; Mr. Nguyen Van That in Lien Hiep area, Xuan An commune; and Mr. Dinh Van Su, a poor household in Bang Thung area, Dong Thinh commune, has commenced.

Mr. Nguyen Van That, from Lien Hiep area, Xuan An commune, emotionally shared: “Without the concern of the State, the Fatherland Front, and kind-hearted people, I don't know when my family would have been able to build a sturdy house. Having a solid house has been a dream of my whole family for many years; we no longer have to worry about leaks whenever it rains heavily.”

Not only from the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels, but also from the funds of the Red Cross, the Farmers' Association, the Women's Union, the Veterans' Association... and the support of philanthropists, businesses, organizations, and individuals who have wholeheartedly shared to build more solidarity houses, humanitarian houses, "Farmers' Solidarity" homes, "Shelters of Love," "Comradeship" homes...

Each poor household whose temporary or dilapidated house is replaced provides further motivation and confidence for the poor to strive in labor and production, gradually escape poverty, and stabilize their lives. It also demonstrates the spirit of mutual support within the community and strengthens the great national unity.
