Attending the program were representatives of the provincial Women's Union, the Department of Foreign Affairs and related departments and branches. Representatives of the European Union Delegation; CARE International in Vietnam.
The project is funded by the European Union and will be implemented from now until February 2028, in 4 communes of Vi Xuyen, Linh Ho, Tan Quang and Vinh Tuy. The WE4Ag project aims to enhance the capacity, opportunities and voices of women in green agriculture development, contributing to a sustainable, inclusive and gender-equal agricultural economy . By supporting skills development, market connectivity and access to green finance, the project will help rural women develop efficient and environmentally friendly business models.
The project focuses on three main groups of activities: Improving sustainable agricultural production capacity for 1,500 women through direct and online training on green, circular, organic and waste-reducing agricultural production methods. Promoting the application of digital technology for 1,200 women, contributing to reducing waste in production and processing, while increasing the value of agricultural products. Expanding market access opportunities for 300 women through supporting the construction of online booths and connecting women with agricultural product distribution channels in and outside the province.
At the program, delegates had a general discussion on "Opportunities to promote the role of women in the sustainable agricultural value chain" and presented the following contents: Women's Union's activities to support women's start-ups, results and experiences; barriers and challenges for women starting businesses in the field of sustainable agriculture and successful experiences; policies to promote sustainable agricultural production/circular agriculture in the province; CARE's experience in supporting women's start-ups; experiences accompanying women starting businesses in the agricultural sector.

The project is expected to contribute to the development of an environmentally friendly agricultural ecosystem, while motivating rural women to become masters of green business models. Through this, the project not only enhances women’s economic status and power, but also contributes to environmental protection, promotes gender equality and contributes positively to sustainable socio-economic development in the locality.
