In today's rapidly evolving technological world , the development cycle for modern enterprise applications is becoming increasingly shorter. Tech leaders are leveraging innovative tools to accelerate digital transformation and gain a competitive edge. Technology integration and transfer play a crucial role in this process, enabling organizations to create better products more quickly.
Speaking at the "Applying Technology to Accelerate Innovation and Conquer Global Markets" conference held today (January 26), Bob Jones, Executive Vice President, Global Business Unit of Siemens, cited Statista's prediction that worldwide spending on digital transformation is expected to reach $3.4 trillion by 2026. According to Gartner, 91% of businesses are involved in some form of digital initiative, and 87% of senior business leaders consider digitalization a priority.
“The world is changing, and customer expectations are changing too. Complexity needs to be turned into a competitive advantage, and successful digital transformation stems from a company’s strategy,” said Jones.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Vu Quoc Huy - Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC) - assessed: "Technology is increasingly becoming a decisive factor in business development. Especially for businesses that want to expand into the global market, learning, transferring, and seeking to apply suitable technologies is a very important condition."
In fact, Vietnam is considered one of the countries with a dynamic innovation ecosystem thanks to the rapid development of its digital economy and the strong growth of the technology sector. In 2022, Vietnam's digital economy grew by 28% compared to 2021, from US$18 billion to US$23 billion, the highest growth rate in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, Vietnam's digital economy is projected to grow twice as fast as its GDP by 2030 (19% compared to 9%).
According to Mr. Huy, right here in Hanoi , NIC has also collaborated with Siemens to build a digital experience space for the smart factory sector. These technological solutions help manufacturers identify applicable and deployable technology solutions within their businesses.
Also at the workshop, representatives from NIC and several businesses in the smart factory sector shared insights, exchanged experiences, and discussed technological trends and the role of technology in accelerating innovation and penetrating the global market.
