From seemingly minor inconveniences in the production process, two workers at the Mechanical Processing Enterprise of Tan Bien Rubber Joint Stock Company diligently researched and improved their work to make it safer and easier. These innovations, stemming from practical labor, not only reduce manual labor but also generate hundreds of millions of dong in profit for the company each year.

From the hardships of the workers

Having worked on the latex production line for many years, Bui Van Tu, a worker in the latex production team, has always believed that any area with shortcomings needs improvement.

"Because I do a lot of work and make many corrections, I've come to see the difficulties that arise every day. Wherever the team is struggling or there's a safety risk, I find ways to simplify the process," Tú shared.

Mr. Bui Van Tu, a worker in the rubber production team, has contributed many initiatives to improve processes and enhance the quality of the working environment for his colleagues.

In 2022, during the production process, he noticed that workers often had to climb a ladder nearly 2 meters high to pull the filter rail out of the sanitary transfer tank. The filter rail was long, heavy, and slippery, making the operation a potential workplace safety hazard.

Based on that experience, he researched and installed a winch system for lifting and lowering filter rails at the transfer tank. Instead of using human strength to pull the filter rails up and down, workers only need to operate the winch to move the filter rails out for cleaning and then reinstall them in their working position.

A simple yet highly effective solution: reduces labor, shortens equipment cleaning time, and, more importantly, minimizes the risk of workplace accidents.

"Previously, we had to stand on a high platform to pull the heavy and dangerous filter rails. Now, we just press the winch button and the operation is done, making the work much easier for the workers," Mr. Tú said.

For him, the greatest reward isn't the awards, but the fact that his colleagues have safer and more comfortable working conditions every day.

The value of small changes

While Mr. Bui Van Tu focused on direct technical improvements on the production line, Mr. Pham Van Tien, the head of the rubber production team, devoted much of his efforts to optimizing the production process.

Having worked at the factory for nearly 20 years, holding various positions, Mr. Tien understands the difficulties faced by workers during the production process.

Mr. Pham Van Tien, Head of the Latex Production Team, always works alongside his colleagues to ensure the process and quality of the product.

"I work directly with the team every day, so I know which processes are still inefficient and where improvements can be made to make the work more effective," he said.

One of his notable innovations is the solution of installing additional suction chambers and cooling fans at the end of the latex drying oven. Previously, the temperature of the latex bales after coming out of the oven often exceeded 75 degrees Celsius, forcing workers to wait for them to cool down before they could continue working, affecting productivity and working conditions.

After the improvements, the latex temperature dropped below 50 degrees Celsius, meeting technical standards. Workers no longer have to wait too long, the working environment is improved, and product quality is more consistent.

The solution is to "Install an additional suction chamber with a cooling fan at the end of the drying oven."

This solution helps the unit save more than 120 million VND per year by reducing electricity consumption, minimizing product deterioration after storage, and cutting labor costs.

"What I care about most is how to make the work less strenuous for the workers, ensure their safety, and produce higher quality products," Tiến shared.

Currently, both Mr. Tú and Mr. Tiến continue to pursue new ideas to improve production efficiency, especially solutions related to digital transformation and management process improvement.

Amidst the rubber processing lines operating day and night, their innovations may not be groundbreaking inventions, but they contribute to the most practical changes: making work safer for workers, easier for them, and more efficient for the business. This is also the enduring value that these creative workers are quietly bringing from the very place where they work every day.
