Phu Tho Club has been suspended from competing.

At noon on May 3rd, the Organizing Committee of the National Second Division Football League announced the suspension of Phu Tho Club's participation in the competition after receiving a disciplinary decision from the Disciplinary Committee of the International Football Federation (FIFA).

According to FIFA's decision, Phu Tho Club was found to be involved in match-fixing in several games. The penalty imposed is to ban Phu Tho Club from the 2025 National Second Division and force the team to compete in the National Third Division in the following season.

Based on the disciplinary decision from FIFA, the Organizing Committee of the tournament announces that from the 5th matchday on May 3rd, 2025, Phu Tho Club will officially be suspended from competing in this year's Second Division league. All of Phu Tho Club's match results from the beginning of the season will be annulled.

The remaining matches of the 2025 season will proceed as scheduled. At the same time, the incident involving Phu Tho Club will be reported to the leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for handling in accordance with the Disciplinary Regulations.

Notifications have also been sent to relevant units, clubs/teams, supervisors, and refereeing committees to coordinate the necessary adjustments related to this change.

This is a serious incident in the effort to strengthen the fight against corruption in Vietnamese football, demonstrating the increasingly close cooperation between the VFF and FIFA in protecting the transparency and fairness of the tournaments.
