Song Lam Nghe An Football Club has a new sponsor.

The new sponsor of Song Lam Nghe An FC affirmed that during this transitional period, the team's top priority is stabilizing the squad, retaining players, and making appropriate additions.

On the morning of May 14th, in Thanh Vinh ward, Nghe An province, Song Lam Nghe An Football Club held a meeting with its new sponsor, who will be partnering with the team from the 2026/27 season onwards. This is considered an important step for the Nghe An team as it prepares to enter a transitional period after its previous sponsor's partnership ends.

Attending the working session were Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An; Mr. Ho Le Duc - General Director of SLNA Sports Joint Stock Company; and Mr. Tran Quang Thuong - Representative of the leadership of Sao Vang Beer, Wine and Beverage Group Joint Stock Company (SAVABECO).

Direction​ Go new for Song Lam Nghe An Club

The meeting took place at a time when Song Lam Nghe An was still striving to achieve its goal of avoiding relegation in the V.League 2025/26. Besides the immediate professional tasks, the story of the team's future and long-term development direction also received much attention from fans in Nghe An.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Tran Thi My Hanh said that the provincial leaders and the sports sector of Nghe An have been closely following the team's situation throughout the past period, especially as Song Lam Nghe An is facing an important transition phase.

According to Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, the termination of Tan Long Group's role as the main sponsor after many years of partnership is a matter of great concern to the provincial leadership. However, Nghe An province has made a strong commitment to ensuring the stability of this historically significant Vietnamese football team.

“Throughout this time, Tan Long Group has accompanied and supported the Nghe An football team with a very responsible and dedicated spirit. Although the group does not directly conduct business in Nghe An, it still allocates significant funds to stand alongside the team, helping Song Lam Nghe An overcome many difficult periods and continue to perform consistently in the V.League,” shared Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh.

Besides expressing gratitude to the former sponsor, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province also officially informed the coaching staff and players that SAVABECO will become a partner of Song Lam Nghe An Club in the future.

Beyond simply seeking new sponsors, Nghe An province is also developing a long-term plan for the team. Accordingly, in addition to the support from SAVABECO, the province will establish a Sports Support Fund to mobilize more businesses in the area to contribute to sponsoring SLNA Football Club.

"This will be a more sustainable direction for building and developing Song Lam Nghe An, a team rich in tradition, identity, and the pride of Nghe An football," emphasized Comrade Tran Thi My Hanh.

On behalf of the new sponsor, Mr. Tran Quang Thuong - representing SAVABECO's leadership - affirmed that partnering with Song Lam Nghe An is not simply a sporting sponsorship activity, but also stems from affection and respect for the historically rich football team of Nghe An province.

"For us, Song Lam Nghe An Club is a source of pride, a spiritual symbol for the people of Nghe An and also for those from Nghe An living far from home," shared Mr. Tran Quang Thuong.

A representative from SAVABECO stated that the company, along with provincial leaders and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province, have had specific discussions regarding the team's future development plan. The biggest goal is to build the Song Lam Nghe An Football Club in a stable, sustainable, and long-term direction.

According to Mr. Tran Quang Thuong, during this transitional period, the team's top priority is stabilizing the squad, retaining key players, and making appropriate additions to prepare for the new season.

Notably, SAVABECO representatives also expressed their desire for Coach Van Sy Son to continue his association with the team as head coach.

"For a football club, the role of the head coach is extremely important. We hope the team will soon stabilize its squad so that next season will not be as difficult as this year," said Mr. Tran Quang Thuong.

In addition, SAVABECO also sent a message of encouragement to the SLNA players to continue their commitment to their hometown team, especially as many key players are facing the possibility of leaving after the 2025/26 season.

"We may not be able to compete financially with some other clubs, but the most commendable thing is that you are playing for your hometown, contributing to the colors of your province," Mr. Tran Quang Thuong emphasized.

The meeting between Song Lam Nghe An Club and its new sponsor, taking place as the season enters its final stages, has somewhat reassured the coaching staff and players, stabilizing their morale and aiming for positive results in the upcoming matches.
