Van Khanh's passion for the challenging sport of table tennis began in the second grade, when she accompanied her father to a practice session. From curiosity to love and passion, Van Khanh spent four years continuously practicing table tennis at gifted classes in Uong Bi City as well as provincial training courses. Ms. Pham Thi Thu Ha, Principal of Le Loi Primary School, said: "Van Khanh's coaches often praise her first for holding the racket correctly, and then for mastering difficult techniques. This shows that Van Khanh has been trained step by step, from basic to advanced and specialized skills. This process is slow but steady, providing a foundation for her continued progress."
Van Khanh has a significant height advantage compared to other students her age; however, the difficult techniques she masters in competition, and above all, her unwavering composure, are what bring her high scores. In the 2024 National Phu Dong Sports Festival, Van Khanh faced strong opponents, all athletes from provinces and cities across the country. Some opponents had previously met her in qualifying rounds or friendly matches, studying her fighting style to counter her. However, on the mat, even a moment of impatience cost them points. Therefore, in qualifying and final matches, Van Khanh doesn't aim for quick wins, but rather for steady wins. The more she fights, the more she takes control of the match, showcasing her strengths and finishing with difficult techniques. This is the secret to Van Khanh's success in sports competitions.
Currently, alongside her passion for table tennis, Van Khanh focuses on her academic studies and dedicates time to recreational activities with family and friends. She shared: "I continue to invest in table tennis, but I also really enjoy my school subjects, especially math and science subjects. My goal is to master academic knowledge so I can get into a good secondary school, and eventually a good high school in the city, contributing to the educational achievements of my school, Uong Bi city, and Quang Ninh province."
