The Golden Girl in “Biological Village”

If anyone asks: “What is hot about Vinh Phuc Specialized High School for the Gifted?”, then Huong Nguyen is the most valuable answer. Huong Nguyen is always admired by friends, proud of teachers and contributes to making the beloved school more radiant.

Right from her years at Lien Minh Primary School (Vinh Yen), Huong Nguyen shone in many intellectual playgrounds and in the 2018-2019 school year, she excellently passed the competency assessment exam and became a student at Vinh Yen Secondary School.

At the key school of Vinh Yen city, under the guidance and inspiration of teacher Nguyen Thi Thu, Huong Nguyen's passion for Biology burned fiercely. She constantly strived to discover new and interesting knowledge and achieved high results in the city-level Biology competitions.

With a solid foundation of knowledge, in the 2022-2023 school year, Huong Nguyen passed the entrance exam to grade 10 specializing in Biology at Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted. In an environment full of excellent students, Huong Nguyen quickly adapted and asserted herself with a methodical learning strategy.

In particular, being taught and trained by Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha and Ms. Nguyen Thi Phu, who are excellent Biology teachers with rich experience and always dedicated to students, he has been able to further develop his abilities and continuously achieve high results in the provincial Biology competitions; including the third prize in the provincial Biology competition for grade 10; the second prize in the Biology competition for grade 11; the second prize in the Biology competition for students at a higher level in grade 12; and the first prize in the Biology competition for students at a higher level in grade 12.

The advancement in the achievement list is not just about numbers but about each step that Huong Nguyen has climbed up by herself with will, passion and relentless training.

Not stopping at provincial competitions, Huong Nguyen tried her hand and shone in regional competitions that required high levels of knowledge and scientific thinking. During her 3 years in high school, she brought home a Silver Medal at Hung Vuong Summer Camp in the 2022-2023 school year; a Bronze Medal, then a Silver Medal in the Natural Science Olympiad organized by Hanoi National University in 2023 and 2024; an Encouragement Prize at the exchange competition for gifted students in the Northern Coastal and Delta regions; an Encouragement Prize in the National Biology Competition for gifted students in the 2023-2024 school year.

In particular, the spectacular breakthrough with the second prize in the national Biology competition for 12th graders - a worthy reward for the relentless training process, like a "level up - max level combo" that makes everyone admire.

From that foundation, Huong Nguyen continued to set foot on the world stage, affirming Vietnamese intelligence on the international map. Winning the Bronze Medal at the USA Biology Olympiad - the largest Biology competition in the US is the clearest proof of Huong Nguyen's talent, courage and ambition to reach far.

She also "checked in" at the British Biology Olympiad with an impressive Encouragement Award, leaving her mark in the land of fog and contributing to proving that "Knowledge has no borders and Vietnamese intelligence can completely reach the international level".

With that golden record, Huong Nguyen won a direct admission ticket to Hanoi Medical University. This is not only the dream of thousands of students majoring in Biology across the country but also the success of the perfect convergence and intersection between life ideals, academic passion and career orientation.

Huong Nguyen said: “Hanoi Medical University will be the starting point for my long-term journey of striving to make a contribution to the medical industry. I want to study, research and use my knowledge to save the lives of many patients.”

Sharing her study secrets, Huong Nguyen said: “To study well, the most important thing is to maintain passion for the subject and know how to set goals and arrange study time reasonably. After that, I constantly try to self-study and review to supplement missing knowledge and update new knowledge.

Along with that, I received the companionship and dedicated guidance of my teachers. If Mr. Ha trained me in self-study spirit, flexible reflexes and test-taking skills, Ms. Phu focused on guiding me in theory as well as scientific and reasonable presentation skills.

Huong Nguyen is also loved and highly appreciated by her friends and teachers for her sense of responsibility and civic awareness. She actively participates in group activities, is always friendly, open, ready to support friends, and inspires her younger students.

At the same time, she is always enthusiastic about volunteering and environmental protection activities launched by the Youth Union. With that effort, in March 2025, Huong Nguyen was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam by the Party Cell of Vinh Phuc Specialized High School when she turned 18 years old.

Nguyen Thi Huong Nguyen is an inspirational image of courage, passion and aspiration to contribute. She not only conquers knowledge, but also touches the hearts of many people through her learning journey.
