(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Over the years, the voluntary blood donation movement in Nhu Xuan district has spread widely, attracting a large number of officials, union members, and people from all walks of life to participate. One of the outstanding examples in this movement is teacher Nguyen Thi Tham – a union member of Xuan Hoa Primary School, who has participated in voluntary blood donation 24 times.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Tham, a union member at Xuan Hoa Primary School (Nhu Xuan district), has donated blood 24 times to save the lives of patients.

For teacher Nguyen Thi Tham, sharing her blood is a practical act, demonstrating her responsibility to the community. Embracing the message "One drop of blood given, one life saved," she actively participates in blood donation drives organized by the district's voluntary blood donation committee. "I feel happy doing something useful for the community, knowing that the blood I donate can save the life of a patient in critical condition," she shared.

Having first donated blood more than 15 years ago, Ms. Tham was still quite hesitant and anxious. However, after a positive experience and the dedicated guidance of the medical team, she understood that blood donation does not affect health, but rather helps the body regenerate new blood and improve immunity. Since then, she has regularly donated blood 1-2 times a year, each time donating 250ml to 350ml.

Not only does Ms. Tham directly donate blood, but she also actively promotes and encourages teachers in her school and the community to participate in blood donation, contributing to spreading the spirit of compassion throughout society. Remarkably, her philanthropic spirit has also spread within her own family. Her husband and children also actively participate in community activities, including the voluntary blood donation movement. Therefore, not only Ms. Tham personally, but also her family has been commended and awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation for their outstanding achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement during the 2023-2024 period.
