Following the announcement of the Michelin Guide in Vietnam, Michelin-starred restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi also witnessed a strong growth in table bookings, including both domestic and international diners.
Mr. Peter Cuong Franklin - Chef of Anan Saigon restaurant - the only restaurant with 1 Michelin star in Ho Chi Minh City - said: "Besides Vietnamese guests, we also receive many booking calls from foreign guests such as: Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia... In the near future, the restaurant plans to recruit more waiters and kitchen staff to meet the needs of diners."
For the first time, Vietnam is registered with Michelin culinary restaurants, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quynh - General Secretary of the Vietnam Chef Association - assessed that the potential of Vietnamese cuisine is still very large.
