On the afternoon of September 12th, Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital held a conference to consult, evaluate, and announce the implementation of electronic medical records. Leaders from the Department of Health and other relevant departments and agencies attended.

Following the directives of the Department of Health regarding the implementation of electronic medical records throughout the entire sector, the Provincial General Hospital has taken concrete steps to implement it. As a leading medical facility implementing many specialized techniques such as radiotherapy, vascular intervention, and hemodialysis, along with a diverse range of medications and chemicals, the electronic medical record software at the Provincial General Hospital has higher and more stringent requirements compared to many other facilities.
As early as September 2024, Ha Tinh Provincial General Hospital established a committee to develop electronic medical records, gradually researching and preparing the necessary conditions for implementation. In particular, from April 2025, when the Government and the Ministry of Health issued specific requirements, the hospital promptly developed a detailed plan and organized study tours to learn from many pioneering models.

Immediately afterwards, the hospital focused on investing resources to upgrade its information technology infrastructure and security systems. Training and instruction on the operation of electronic medical records were organized for the medical staff. In particular, the hospital collaborated with service providers to integrate key software such as HIS, LIS, PACS, and EMR, thereby completely closing the loop in the process from patient reception, information management, medical history, test results, and image storage and transmission to patients in an electronic environment, replacing paper medical records.
The implementation of electronic medical records is not only a significant milestone in the digital transformation process of the Provincial General Hospital, but also a practical step towards modernizing management, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, enhancing accuracy and transparency, and better serving patients.

Previously, the Electronic Medical Record Evaluation Council, comprised of the Department of Health and other relevant departments, assessed the criteria and voted to allow the Provincial General Hospital to operate an electronic medical record system.

To date, 12 facilities in the province have completed and are operating electronic medical records. The Department of Health is urging the remaining facilities to closely coordinate with information technology units to complete the digital infrastructure to ensure that all medical facilities operate electronic medical records before September 30th, in accordance with the directives of the Government, the Ministry of Health, and the Provincial People's Committee.
