On November 28th, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Ngai province organized a ceremony to launch a campaign to support the "eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" program in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Quang Ngai Province, stated that from 2021 to the present, Quang Ngai Province has built and repaired houses for more than 9,000 poor and near-poor households facing housing difficulties, with a total budget of nearly 400 billion VND. Of this, the State budget contributed approximately 160 billion VND, and other social resources contributed about 240 billion VND.
"I hope that through the launching ceremony to support the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, organized today, we will be able to mobilize many contributions to achieve the province's goal of 'completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses' for households in the province by 2025," said Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van: “With the strong determination of the entire political system in the province, the great efforts and decisive actions of the business community and all sectors of the population, I believe that the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, with its profound and noble humanitarian significance, will receive positive responses and support from organizations, individuals, the entire society, businesses, and the entire population with the spirit of mutual assistance, compassion, and solidarity for the poor.”
According to statistics from the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, the province currently has approximately 9,797 households of revolutionary veterans and relatives of martyrs, poor households, near-poor households, and households negatively impacted by natural disasters and climate change, who are living in temporary, dilapidated, unsafe houses or have no housing at all. However, the resources from the State budget and the provincial budget to support this are still limited.
According to Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province aims to ensure that 100% of the province's residents live in safe, sturdy houses, allowing them to work and produce with peace of mind and stabilize their lives.
According to the plan of the Provincial Steering Committee on the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, it is expected that by 2025, through national target programs, from the state budget, and from the mobilization of social resources, the province will provide housing support to approximately 9,797 poor and near-poor households, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and relatives of martyrs.
At the launch ceremony, the program successfully raised over 242 billion VND from various organizations, businesses, and localities.
