Da Nang City Police arrest a case of producing fake textbooks worth 12 billion VND

On the morning of June 21, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Le Trung Chinh came to congratulate and reward Da Nang City Police for their outstanding achievements in investigating and discovering a large-scale case of producing and trading fake textbooks.

Previously, Da Nang City Police established Project SGK-192 to investigate the production and trade of fake textbooks in Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City.

On June 14, Da Nang City Police arrested Le Duy Quang (42 years old) and Nguyen Van Anh (44 years old, both residing in An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City) as the leading suspects.

Expanding the investigation, the task force arrested three more suspects in Ho Chi Minh City, including Nguyen Trung Luat (43 years old, residing in District 12), Pham Ngoc Quang (47 years old, residing in Go Vap District) and Pham Thach Kim Dien (39 years old, residing in Binh Tan District, both in Ho Chi Minh City).

The seized exhibits included about 1 million stamps, 600,000 fake finished and semi-finished books, worth about 12 billion VND, along with all printers, cutting machines, staplers, sewing machines, gluing machines, forklifts, cars, fake stamps, zinc plates, printing paper...

The investigation agency has detained the above 5 suspects for further investigation and strict handling according to the provisions of law.
