On March 6th, in Moc Chau district, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the general urban planning of Moc Chau town, Son La province, until 2040. Attending the ceremony was Mr. Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The Moc Chau urban master plan encompasses the entire natural area of Moc Chau district, covering 107,209.47 hectares (1,072.09 km²). The goal is to build a green Moc Chau urban area with a synchronous, modern, and smart infrastructure; reflecting the unique cultural identity, natural landscape, and climate of the highlands; and achieving sustainable and comprehensive development. It aims to be a national-level tourist city; a center for socio -economic development of the province; a center for the production, processing, and transfer of high-tech agriculture in a circular and environmentally friendly manner; a border city linked to the development of international border trade; and a strategically important location for national defense and security.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Comrade Le Hong Minh requested that Moc Chau district complete the planning documents and transfer them to provincial and district-level management agencies as prescribed; build a GIS planning database on the province's website; organize the announcement, public disclosure, and placement of boundary markers and billboards announcing the approved planning project as prescribed; and organize the preparation of a plan for implementing the planning and submit it to the competent authority for approval as prescribed. He also requested urban architecture management and the implementation of the plan in accordance with current regulations. Furthermore, he called for a review of the content of the general urban planning of Moc Chau, Son La province, until 2040 after the general planning of the National Tourism Area is approved and adjusted, ensuring that lower-level planning is consistent with higher-level planning. In their acceptance speeches, the leaders of Moc Chau district expressed their determination to mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system to effectively implement the contents of the plan, ensuring consistency and serving as an important foundation for the urban development of Moc Chau district.
