Attending the conference were Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province Nguyen Huy Ngoc; leaders of the Department; heads and deputy heads of sub-departments, and departments and units under the Department.
According to a resolution of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Council, the Department of Science and Technology was established by merging the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology. The functions and tasks of advising and assisting the Provincial People's Committee in state management of press and publishing were transferred to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and the tasks of advising and assisting the Provincial People's Committee in state management of network information security were transferred to the Provincial Police Department.
Following the merger, the organizational structure of the Department of Science and Technology includes: a Director, Deputy Directors, 5 specialized departments, 1 Sub-department, and 2 public service units.

At the conference, the Provincial People's Council's resolution on the establishment of the Department of Science and Technology was announced, along with the decisions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on personnel matters. Accordingly, Comrade Nguyen Minh Tuong - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Information and Communications - was appointed as Director of the Department of Science and Technology after the merger.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc acknowledged and praised the proactive, expeditious, and responsible spirit of the Department in implementing the Resolutions and Decisions of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee on organizational structure and personnel work. Congratulating the newly appointed and assigned officials, Vice Chairman Nguyen Huy Ngoc expressed his confidence that the Department's leaders will continue to strive, make efforts, leverage their strengths and experience, and successfully complete their assigned tasks in the coming period.

To ensure the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the Department, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc requested that the Department of Science and Technology focus on the handover and acceptance of tasks, personnel, assets, finances, records, and documents in accordance with regulations; and arrange suitable office space for the specialized departments after the merger. The Department should proactively develop regulations on its functions, tasks, and organizational structure, and review and amend existing regulations, working procedures, and coordination mechanisms to suit the new structure. Clearly assign tasks within the Department's leadership team and among its officials and employees, based on their professional qualifications, capabilities, and job positions, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operation and timely implementation of the 2025 work program.
Immediately implement the new organizational model, rearrange the operations of departments according to the approved plan; assign staff and appoint heads and deputy heads of departments and subordinate units to ensure sufficient numbers, suitability, and fulfillment of tasks. Clearly define responsibilities, tasks, timelines, and timelines. Review and continue implementing tasks, especially those currently pending, paying attention to resolving outstanding issues from both units before the merger. Timely and fully implement all tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, especially in its role as the permanent advisory, support, and coordinating agency of the Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation in Phu Tho province.
The comrade requested that the leaders of the Department focus on studying and promptly implementing new tasks and duties, avoiding any gaps in the agency's operations, and successfully completing the sector's tasks. At the same time, they should do a good job of ideological work among cadres and Party members; fully and promptly implement policies and regulations for cadres, civil servants, and employees; be ready to accept assignments and strictly comply with organizational directives and assignments; maintain strict discipline and order; promote a spirit of unity, consensus, democracy, and close coordination in their work.
