Announcing Ta Phin commune reaching advanced new rural standards

Attending the announcement ceremony were comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of a number of provincial departments and branches; leaders of Sa Pa town; leaders and people of Ta Phin commune.

Ta Phin Commune is about 12 km from the center of Sa Pa town, with over 95% of the population being ethnic minorities. Previously, people's lives were difficult, infrastructure was underdeveloped, the poverty rate was high, and the economy relied mainly on traditional agriculture. Ta Phin has effectively utilized resources from the National Target Program on New Rural Development. After achieving new rural standards in 2018, the commune continues to aim to improve the criteria, aiming for sustainable and comprehensive development.

Thanks to the active participation of the entire political system and the people, up to now, Ta Phin has completed 19/19 criteria for advanced new rural areas, 100% of villages have achieved model villages; over 70% of traffic has been solidified; schools, medical stations, and cultural houses all meet standards; average income per capita has reached over 55 million VND/year; the poverty rate has decreased to less than 3%, and people's lives have been comprehensively improved.

With the achieved results, on May 14, 2025, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1502/QD-UBND recognizing Ta Phin commune, Sa Pa town as meeting the standards of an advanced new rural commune in 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised the achievements and results that the Party Committee, government and people of Ta Phin commune have achieved in recent times.

To maintain the achieved results, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Party Committee, government and people of Ta Phin commune to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the National Target Program on New Rural Construction according to the policies and resolutions of the Central and the province; continue to further promote propaganda work, raise awareness for cadres and people about the meaning and purpose of new rural construction, determine that new rural construction "has a starting point but no end point", it is necessary to promote the exemplary role of cadres, party members, especially leaders, in pioneering the implementation of new rural criteria.
