People donate blood at An Tho Pagoda

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy (Tan An ward) is one of the typical faces who has donated blood 25 times. She expressed: “I believe that each drop of blood donated is another chance to live for the patient.

I feel happy to contribute my small part to help the community. Not only donating blood, I also actively participate in volunteer movements, hoping to spread the spirit of sharing to more people."

The Organizing Committee honors those who donated blood more than 10 times.

According to the Deputy Head of the Executive Committee and Head of the Propagation Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province, Abbot of An Tho Pagoda, Venerable Thich Le Ngon, blood donation has become a tradition of the pagoda for many years.

Since the pagoda was part of Long An province (old), An Tho pagoda has been the only religious establishment that has maintained regular blood donation activities. Up to now, after 20 organizing sessions, thousands of blood units have been received, contributing to saving the lives of many patients.

Many rustic dishes are prepared to serve free to the people.

In addition to issuing certificates and giving gifts of gratitude, the Organizing Committee also prepared a vegetarian buffet with many traditional dishes such as cakes, sticky rice, and sweet soup to serve free of charge to participants. On this occasion, the pagoda also organized a ceremony to honor and thank 56 people who had donated blood more than 10 times.

At the blood donation festival, Most Venerable Thich Minh Thien, Advisor to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Tay Ninh province, directly visited and encouraged people to donate blood. He emphasized that maintaining this activity not only brings valuable blood to the hospital but also promotes the spirit of humanity, sharing, and practical contributions to the community./.
