On the morning of October 11, oil prices fell sharply. At the end of the week, Brent crude oil fell by 2.49 USD/barrel, or 3.82%, to 62.73 USD/barrel; WTI crude oil also fell by 2.61 USD/barrel, or 4.24%, to 58.90 USD/barrel.

Both of these world benchmark oil contracts have reached their lowest levels in more than 5 months. For the whole week, they have decreased by about 4%.

According to Reuters, world oil prices fell sharply after US President Donald Trump threatened to impose higher tariffs on Chinese goods. This raised concerns about oil demand in the context of an already oversupplied market. It is worth noting that analysts said the market's developments were related to many factors, of which Donald Trump's threat to sharply increase tariffs on Chinese goods was only the latest factor.

OPEC+'s increased production, additional supply from North and South America, and reduced geopolitical risks after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza are considered factors that will greatly impact the crude oil market.

In a post on the social network Truth Social on October 10, the US President said the country is calculating a "huge" tax increase on imported goods from China if the country of one billion people controls rare earth exports.

Meanwhile, Israel and the Hamas movement have signed a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, marking the first step in US President Donald Trump's efforts to end the conflict in the region.

Domestically, updated reference prices of finished petroleum products on the Singapore market this morning show that finished product prices have shown signs of a slight increase compared to last week.

On the morning of October 11, the retail price of gasoline in the market of region 2 (far from ports, warehouses, factories...) as announced by Petrolimex is as follows: RON 95-V gasoline 20,620 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline 20,110 VND/liter, E10 RON 95-III biofuel 19,890 VND/liter, E5 RON 92-II biofuel 19,510 VND/liter, diesel 19,410 VND/liter, kerosene 18,790 VND/liter, mazut 15,090 VND/kg./.
