UniVentures launched to empower the next generation of Vietnamese startups.
BLOCK71 – a unit of the National University of Singapore – in collaboration with Temasek Foundation and partners such as NIC, Golden Gate Ventures, Google Cloud, IBM, etc., has just launched the UniVentures program in Vietnam to support young founders from universities.
Inspired by the "University to Unicorn" vision, UniVentures connects the innovation ecosystems of Singapore and Vietnam, providing training, mentoring, and funding opportunities for promising startups. In its first recruitment round alone, the program attracted nearly 1,500 applications.

Golden Gate Ventures has announced a $250,000 prize fund for up to 10 outstanding startups, providing a springboard for scaling up and accessing investors. The program has been implemented at several major universities such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and VinUniversity.
UniVentures is a testament to the strategic partnership between Singapore and Vietnam in the field of innovation, contributing to fostering a wave of young entrepreneurs and building bridges between the public and private sectors.
Apple signs $1 billion agreement to use Gemini.
Apple is close to signing a deal worth approximately $1 billion per year with Google to use a customized version of the Gemini AI model to enhance its Siri virtual assistant.
This is a noteworthy move by Apple, as the company typically develops its own technology. However, it chose a temporary solution of integrating Google's AI while waiting for its internal AI system to become powerful enough to replace it.
The proposed Gemini model has 1.2 trillion parameters, approximately eight times more than the current Apple Intelligence model, which has only 150 billion parameters.

Before choosing Google, Apple tested AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic. After the evaluation process, Apple decided to partner with Google to implement the new Siri.
An upgraded version of Siri is expected to launch in spring 2026. However, plans may still change depending on development progress.
This agreement is not only a technological advancement but also represents a strategic partnership between two industry giants, opening up new opportunities for competition in the field of virtual assistants and consumer AI.
Motorola launches the ultra-slim Edge 70 phone.
Motorola has just launched the Edge 70 – an ultra-slim phone measuring only 5.99mm thick but still maintaining a large battery capacity, marking a new step forward in the trend of designing thin and light phones without sacrificing performance.
Despite being only slightly thicker than the iPhone Air, the Edge 70 excels in battery life with its 4,800mAh battery, allowing for comfortable use for more than a day. This is the result of applying advanced silicon-carbon battery technology.
The phone supports 68W fast charging and 15W Qi wireless charging; although it lacks Qi2, Motorola includes a magnetic case to improve wireless charging.

The Edge 70 uses a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip – sufficient for most users, but not as powerful as flagships in the same segment. The biggest drawback is the pre-installed Android software with too many apps and ads.
Motorola pre-installs over 14 of its own apps, along with many third-party apps like Candy Crush, Pinterest, Monopoly Go, etc. Additionally, the lock screen displays advertisements in the form of images and articles, which can be annoying for users.
