The success rate of remote operation currently remains at 99-99.7%, significantly reducing the power outage time for customers.
In addition to modernizing the power grid, Quang Ninh Power Company is also actively applying artificial intelligence and digital technology in technical management. The unit has implemented the LGBM (Light Gradient Boosting Machine) algorithm to automatically forecast electricity load. The system uses big data, combining analysis of electricity demand with weather and temperature factors to provide accurate forecasts. This helps the power industry proactively develop rational operating methods, limit the risk of overload, and reduce power losses.
The digitization of technical data has also been strongly implemented. Operating parameters such as current, voltage, and power at medium-voltage switchgear, 110kV transformers, and switching equipment are automatically collected on the SP5 software, effectively serving the operation, maintenance, and investment in power grid construction. In addition, 100% of line and substation data has been standardized on the PMIS technical management software and GIS geographic maps. The application of handheld smart devices in field inspections and partial discharge measurement helps detect potential incidents early, improving the safety of power system operation.

Electricity consumption data is automatically transmitted to the data center, completely replacing the previous manual meter reading method. According to PC Quang Ninh's leadership, in anticipation of a projected 8-10.5% increase in peak power demand across the province, the Quang Ninh power sector continues to develop a "predictive maintenance" model based on artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT). Simultaneously, they are expanding the application of AI-integrated drones in inspecting power grid corridors, automatically detecting risks such as sagging wires and cracked insulators. At the same time, the company continues to upgrade its Distribution Management System (DMS), expanding automation loops and effectively utilizing data from over 453,000 electronic meters to analyze and pinpoint power loss areas.
The increased application of science and technology is creating a clear shift in the operation of the electricity sector, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 70 of the Politburo on ensuring national energy security; at the same time, it enhances the efficiency of management and operation, contributing to building a modern, smart power system that meets the requirements of socio-economic development and better serves the needs of people and businesses in the province.
