Defense Industry Forever Shines Faith

On October 7-10, at Viettel Academy, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army organized the 2024 Competition for Excellent Grassroots Trade Union Chairmen at the military level. Major General Nguyen Viet Hung, Standing Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry attended and encouraged the competition of the General Department of Defense Industry Team.

With the theme "Bravery, intelligence - Passion, affection", the contest gathered 38 teams with nearly 600 union officials and members from agencies and units across the army competing in the following contents: Knowledge, greeting, handling situations, talent; demonstrating bravery, intelligence, talent and flexibility in handling situations, problems and difficulties in organizing workers' movements and union activities, in accordance with the nature and characteristics of the agency, unit and enterprise.

The contest is also an opportunity to evaluate the quality and comprehensive capacity of the trade union cadres in general and the grassroots trade union chairmen in particular; at the same time, it contributes to raising awareness and knowledge for cadres, union members, and workers about the position, role, functions, and tasks of the trade union organization; the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; Resolutions and Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; practical experience in handling common situations in the operation of the trade union organization. The contest is also a basis for consulting and proposing measures to enhance training in professional theory, skills, and methods for the trade union cadres, contributing to improving the qualifications, skills, and experience in directing, guiding, and organizing trade union activities at the grassroots level, meeting the requirements of trade union work tasks.

Participating in the contest with the theme "Defense Industry forever shines with trust", the team of the General Department of Defense Industry performed very impressively in the content. Specifically, in the greeting round, the team participated with the theme "All for the ship that sails tomorrow"; the situation handling round, built into the skit "Union shelter" and in the talent round, performed the guitar solo "Mashup very near Truong Sa - Forest orchid branch". The script was invested in and elaborately constructed, rich in art, topical, with profound educational meaning. With creativity and a confident, courageous performance style, mastering the stage, artistic accompaniment... made the team's performance really emotional, creating an impression that captivated the audience.

After 3 days of exciting competition, the team of the General Department of Defense Industry was awarded the Excellent Prize by the Head of the General Department of Politics in the 2024 Competition for Excellent Grassroots Trade Union Chairmen of the Army. Senior Lieutenant Colonel Bui Tuan Hung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Factory Z173, was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Head of the General Department of Politics at the Competition.
