According to the latest report from the General Statistics Office on the socio -economic situation in November, the consumer price index (CPI) in November increased by 0.13% compared to the previous month. Compared to December 2023, the CPI in November increased by 2.65%, and compared to the same period last year, it increased by 2.77%.

On average, for the first 11 months of 2024, the CPI increased by 3.69% compared to the same period of the previous year; core inflation increased by 2.7%.

In November, eight groups of goods and services saw price increases, while three groups experienced price decreases. The three groups with price decreases included transportation (down 0.07%), food and catering services (down 0.22%), and postal and telecommunications services (down 0.3%).

The gold price index in November increased by 2.26% compared to the previous month; increased by 32.91% compared to December 2023; and increased by 38.2% compared to the same period last year. On average, the gold price index increased by 28.42% over the first 11 months of 2024.

The USD price index also increased by 1.76% in the month compared to the previous month; increased by 4.22% compared to December 2023; and increased by 3.63% compared to the same period last year. The average increase for the eleven months of 2024 was 4.97%.

In November, preliminary total merchandise exports and imports reached US$66.4 billion, down 4.1% from the previous month and up 9.0% year-on-year. For the first 11 months of the year, preliminary total merchandise exports and imports reached US$715.55 billion, up 15.4% year-on-year, with exports increasing by 14.4% and imports by 16.4%. The trade balance showed a surplus of US$24.31 billion.

The United States is Vietnam's largest export market, with a trade value of $108.9 billion. China is Vietnam's largest import market, with a trade value of $130.2 billion.
