This election takes place against the backdrop of Ho Chi Minh City's strong transformation following significant national milestones, including the merger with the former provinces of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the implementation of a two-tiered government system, and the focused implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, leading up to the 50th anniversary of the city being named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 1976 - July 2026). As a "megacity" and the largest economic and financial center in the country, each vote cast by the city's voters carries not only faith but also aspirations for a new phase of breakthrough development for the city.

The atmosphere at the polling stations was exhilarating; voters participated in the election with joy and enthusiasm, truly making it a national festival. From centenarians who had voted since the first National Assembly election in 1945, to young people holding their voter cards for the first time, all shared the same feeling: pride in contributing their voices to the building of the state apparatus. This is the clearest evidence of the strength of national unity and the people's absolute trust in the Party's leadership.

Voters expressed confidence in the success of the election and appreciated the quality, brief biographies, and action programs of the candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. Voters in the city believe that this election was conducted meticulously, democratically, and in accordance with regulations, with each voter hoping to contribute to the overall success of the election.

Ms. Ha Kim Son, 42 years old, a hearing-impaired voter, who cast her ballot at polling station number 20 in Binh Thanh ward, shared: "I am very happy because this is the first time I have been able to vote. The ward officials provided Braille materials and audio recordings so that I could better understand my rights and the candidates. I hope that those elected will be truly talented people who will benefit the people and care about those in difficult circumstances like us."

Local authorities actively encouraged voters in the city to participate in the election. Propaganda efforts at polling stations, using various methods such as billboards, posters, public address systems, and digital platforms, were continuously maintained, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere for the people.

At polling station No. 14 (Hoc Mon commune, Ho Chi Minh City), Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly, and Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man, along with many central and Ho Chi Minh City leaders, attended the opening ceremony and exercised their right to vote. From the land rich in revolutionary traditions of "Eighteen Betel Garden Villages," sharing a message to voters nationwide, the Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his confidence that voters across the country would cast their votes fully, correctly, and completely, choosing talented and virtuous individuals worthy of being representatives in the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, so that the country can enter a new era, an era of national progress, and successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.

Each ballot is a "brick" in building the "common house" of the institution. Nearly 9.7 million voters in Ho Chi Minh City exercised their rights and duties with the utmost seriousness and responsibility by carefully studying the biographies and action programs of the candidates. For many voters, they not only voted to meet the required number but also voted with the belief that the representatives they chose would truly listen, understand, and convey the thoughts and aspirations of the people to parliamentary forums and translate them into concrete and effective actions.

Speaking to the press at polling station No. 26 (electoral unit No. 6, Phu Thuan neighborhood, Phu An ward), Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the City People's Council and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Election Committee, stated that to become a candidate for the National Assembly or the People's Council, each individual must undergo a thorough preparation and screening process according to the correct procedures, ensuring compliance with the prescribed standards and conditions. Those elected are all deserving individuals.

According to Mr. Vo Van Minh, the new term is expected to place many high demands on elected representatives, especially in addressing the practical issues of the city. Each representative, after receiving the trust of the voters, needs to seriously implement the committed action program, while also linking that responsibility to their field of work and expertise. “In supervising and deciding on important issues of the city, representatives need to proactively research information, especially in their professional field, to provide insightful and practical contributions when the People's Council considers and issues important resolutions, thereby improving the quality of the People's Council's resolutions,” Mr. Minh emphasized.

The success of the election in Ho Chi Minh City once again affirms that when the Party's will aligns with the people's aspirations, and when every citizen is clearly aware of their responsibilities, all challenges can be overcome. The election results will be a new source of energy, propelling the city named after President Ho Chi Minh to continue its steady progress on the path of sustainable development, worthy of being the economic locomotive of the entire country.

Ho Chi Minh City is entering a new phase of development with high expectations, aiming to become an international financial center, a creative metropolis, and the economic engine of the country. These goals demand sound policies and representatives with the dedication and vision to represent the will and aspirations of the city's people.

Therefore, each vote cast by voters in Ho Chi Minh City is not only a choice for the five-year term of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, but also a choice for the future development of the city and the country.
