On April 22, the Department of Internal Affairs of Quang Binh province announced that it had submitted a report to the Provincial Steering Committee for Administrative Unit Reorganization and the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee on the results of soliciting public opinion on the plan for reorganizing provincial and commune-level administrative units in 2025.

Accordingly, 98.4% of voters representing households in the entire province participated in the public consultation on the plan for rearranging administrative units at the provincial and commune levels.
Specifically, the percentage of voters agreeing with the proposal to merge Quang Binh province with Quang Tri province reached 97.9%; the overall percentage of voters in the province agreeing with the proposal to reorganize 145 commune-level administrative units into 41 units (including 5 wards and 36 communes) reached 96.1%.
The public consultation was conducted by distributing ballots to household representatives and was simultaneously implemented in all communes, wards, and towns in the province (except for Tan Thanh commune, Minh Hoa district) as it was not subject to reorganization or merger.
For the provincial-level administrative unit reorganization plan, opinion polls will be sent to voters representing households with permanent residence in Quang Binh province. In Quang Tri province, the opinion poll will be organized by the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, according to a separate plan.
Regarding the plan for reorganizing commune-level administrative units, voters representing households residing in the communes, wards, and towns subject to merger or adjustment all participated in providing feedback.
The People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities shall compile the results of the voter consultation and report them to the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee immediately after completion. The Department of Internal Affairs shall compile all results and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee before April 22nd.
Previously, on April 14th, the Executive Committee of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, 17th term, issued Resolution No. 18-NQ/TU, agreeing on the plan for rearranging commune-level administrative units. According to the Resolution, after the rearrangement, Quang Binh province will have 41 commune-level administrative units (including 36 communes and 5 wards).
