Starting around 2 PM, the volume of vehicles heading towards the city's gateways increased significantly, including roads like Giai Phong, Pham Hung, Khuat Duy Tien, Nguyen Trai, and the route towards Phap Van – National Highway 1A... The photo shows Khuat Duy Tien road heading towards Phap Van and the access road to the elevated Ring Road 3, both congested with vehicles moving slowly. The April 30th and May 1st holidays each year are always peak traffic periods nationwide, and especially in Hanoi. With the extended holiday, the demand for travel to hometowns, for tourism , or for recreational activities increases dramatically, putting significant pressure on transportation infrastructure and posing numerous traffic safety risks. The photo shows the Giai Phong road heading towards Phap Van at 3 PM. People flocked to bus stations like Giap Bat and Nuoc Ngam to return to their hometowns. The Ngoc Hoi road (Hoang Mai district, Hanoi ) and the area around the Nuoc Ngam bus station also have a very high density of cars and motorbikes. According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Tu Anh, Deputy Head of Traffic Police Team No. 14 (Hanoi City Police Traffic Department), the unit has developed a plan to deploy 100% of its personnel during peak hours, especially at the southern gateways of the city, bus stations, and national highways and expressways. Simultaneously, they are coordinating closely with traffic police teams in neighboring areas and the Traffic Police Department to organize traffic flow management, regulation, and handling of emerging situations along the entire route, ensuring safe and convenient travel for citizens. Furthermore, citizens should proactively plan their time and avoid traveling during peak hours unless absolutely necessary. When participating in traffic, they must strictly adhere to traffic regulations. Follow traffic laws, avoid drunk driving, refrain from speeding and reckless driving, and park in designated areas. Citizens can update traffic conditions via the VNetraffic app, the Zalo page "Hanoi Traffic Police Department," or the VOV Traffic channel to choose suitable routes and avoid congested areas. The weather this afternoon was quite hot and humid, making the traffic control work of the traffic police officers even more difficult. Officers from Traffic Police Team No. 14 are directing traffic from Do Muoi Street to Giai Phong Street. At 5 PM, despite the heavy traffic at the southern gateway, people strictly adhered to traffic safety regulations. It is expected that tonight and early tomorrow morning (April 30th), many Hanoi residents will choose to leave the city by private vehicles, traveling along the Ring Road 3 and crossing key bridges towards the outskirts. Hanoi traffic police will continue to maintain 100% of their personnel on duty, ensuring safe and smooth traffic flow in their assigned areas.
