This first shipment is part of a 60,000-ton rice aid package from China, which will be gradually delivered to Cuba.
Cuba's Minister of Internal Trade stated that the aid consists of four shipments, each carrying approximately 15,000 tons of rice, with two arriving at the port of Havana and the other two at the port of Santiago de Cuba, aiming to ensure food supplies for people nationwide. Despite facing difficulties with fuel and transportation, authorities are making every effort to expedite the distribution process and deliver the rice to the people as quickly as possible.

Workers transport bags of rice aid at a Cuban port amid the country's economic difficulties and fuel shortages.
According to local media, China is a key ally of Cuba, providing economic and humanitarian assistance as the island nation grapples with an economic crisis, largely stemming from the US fuel embargo.
