However, despite those two very important relationships, King Charles is also said to have had another stop with Dale Tryon, according to the New York Post .

Although not much is known about Dale Tryon, she has made a name for herself in British royal circles through her work as a fashion designer.

King Charles once called her "the only woman who really understood me". Dale Tryon is said to have been one of the first girls to "share a bed" with Charles - before he had other relationships with Camilla (75) and Diana.

Charles became close friends with Dale when she married Baron Anthony Tryon in 1973.

The Baron was part of the Royal Family at the time and Dale learned more about the Royal Family through his spouse.

However, she actually first met Prince Charles in 1966 at a school dance in Victoria, Melbourne (Australia), where she was born and raised.

Both have time close bond

But before she entered the world of tiaras, gold and glamour, Dale made the big move to the UK from the southern hemisphere to set up her own couture label in 1972, just a year before her wedding.

During their marriage, Dale welcomed four children but later divorced in 1997.

Her life was even chronicled in a 2008 Channel 4 documentary - Prince Charles' Other Mistress - detailing her purported love for Charles and the tragedies she faced.

The film alleges that Charles and Dale's relationship began while he was still dating Camilla - who married soldier Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973.

The heir to the throne – apparently enjoying his bachelor life at the time – jumped from Dale to Camilla and back again.

Duchess of Cornwall – Camilla and businesswoman Dale Tryon are said to be "fierce rivals" and hate each other.

When Dale gave birth to her second child - named Charles - in 1976, Queen Elizabeth's eldest son became the boy's godfather.

But when Charles married Diana in July 1981, his alleged love triangle with the two women stopped.

Dale had a friendship with Diana - who died in 1997 - but was said to have always been at odds with Camilla.

"Camilla was the enemy. On the basis that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, Diana felt there should be some purpose in allying with Dale," royal expert Christopher Wilson said in a Channel 4 special.

Princess of Wales - Diana - even wore one of Dale's designs at the Live Aid concert in 1985.

The documentary notes that the Tryon family denies any claims of a romantic relationship between Dale and Charles.

It has been reported that while Charles was attending a polo match in the mid-1990s, Dale tried to pursue him while she was in a wheelchair. Dale tried to rekindle their friendship but the Royal Family did not approve.

According to Tina Brown's 2022 book The Palace Papers , Charles issued a statement shortly afterward, attempting to distance himself from Dale, saying he and his former lover were just acquaintances.

Charles even said that they only talked "once or twice a year" and that he wanted to push her away, although Tina Brown wrote that Charles still "loved her frankness and openness".

Due to Dale's allegedly "unstable" mental state, Baron Tryon (who died in 2018) separated from Dale under the Mental Health Act in June 1997 and initiated divorce proceedings.

There were also whispers that Dale used her relationship with Charles to promote her fashion line in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Charles and Camilla will officially be crowned on May 6, 2023.

Dale suffered from various illnesses. In 1993, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer, and later battled alcohol and drug addiction.

In 1996, Dale Tryon checked into a rehabilitation facility in Surrey, called Farm Place, after abusing painkillers, large amounts of vodka and champagne while suffering from cancer.

While at the treatment center, she fell from a window and suffered serious injuries, including a fractured skull, spinal injuries, and partial paralysis, forcing her to use a wheelchair for the last 18 months of her life.

Before his death in November 1997 from septicaemia - more than two months after Diana's tragic death - Dale travelled to Australia and India.

But on returning to London she was rushed to hospital, where she died shortly afterwards - less than two months before her 50th birthday.

Dale Tryon was buried in England and his $1.6 million estate was left to his children.
