According to Bored Panda, these photos of the world's coldest village were taken many years ago by New Zealand photographer Amos Chapple. (Image source: Bored Panda) With the lowest temperature ever recorded being -71.2°C in 1924 and the average January temperature being -50°C, this village is the coldest permanently inhabited place on the planet.
A woman walks past a "frozen" house located in the center of the village. Local farmers keep their cattle warm at night by keeping them in this shed.
Life in Oymyakon is truly very harsh.
A shop in Oymyakon provides villagers with essential supplies. Cars parked in a heated garage must have their engines turned off. Cars parked outside must remain running, otherwise they will not be able to restart. The people here face unique challenges in their daily lives due to the cold climate.
Most toilets are built outside the house because the freezing ground makes it impossible to build indoor plumbing systems. >>> Readers are invited to watch more videos : The village without roads in the Netherlands (Video source: THĐT)
