On the morning of August 2, the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association organized the opening of the photo exhibition "I love Truong Sa so much" at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street.

This is one of the activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Navy's first victory (August 5, 1964 - August 5, 2024).

99 stories about Truong Sa

The exhibition introduces 99 works by 10 photographers from the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association during a working trip to visit Truong Sa soldiers from April to June 2024.

The 10 photographers whose photos are exhibited this time include: Nguyen Truong Sinh, Truong Quoc Trung, Pho Thi Thanh Hang, Thach Minh Le, Nguyen Tan Nghia, Nguyen Tien Quang, Than Van Hai, Dang Mi Ro, Dang Thi Kim Phuong and Huynh Pham Anh Dung.

Photographer Nguyen Truong Sinh shared that he was very happy and excited to join the business trip to Truong Sa.

At first he was worried that he would not be healthy enough to join the trip, but fortunately everything went smoothly, leaving behind many unforgettable memories.

Photographer Than Van Hai is one of the oldest members. This year, he is 75 years old. "I am very excited to come to Truong Sa for the first time, to record the activities of soldiers and people of Truong Sa. Truong Sa archipelago is sacred in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.

"As photographers, we have the responsibility to bring these images to many people, showing the vitality of Truong Sa and the pride of the Vietnamese people in their sea and islands. If I have the chance to go again, I will continue" - Mr. Than Van Hai told Tuoi Tre Online .

During this trip, Mr. Than Van Hai also composed 7 poems.

The photos praise the beauty of Truong Sa island, DK1 platform, and images of soldiers and people steadfastly clinging to the island to firmly protect the homeland's sea and islands.

Moments of daily life of soldiers and civilians on the island make many people who have been to Truong Sa feel nostalgic, emotional, and their memories come flooding back.

Mr. Doan Hoai Trung - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association - informed that recently the Association has sent more than 30 photographers to join working groups to Truong Sa and DK1 platform. On the occasion of the recent Tet holiday, photographers Nguyen Manh Hung, Giang Son Dong, and Nguyen Van Phung followed the group to wish them a happy new year, after returning to organize the exhibition Spring Colors of Truong Sa.

The Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association also organized a photo exhibition "Towards Truong Sa and Beloved Platforms" for 15 photographers, on the occasion of the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

This photo collection will be on display in Binh Chanh on August 6 in the sea and island program.

Attending the exhibition, Lieutenant Colonel Le Hong Quang - Deputy Political Commissar of the 125th Naval Brigade - hoped that after the photo exhibition "Love Truong Sa so much" at the City Book Street ended, the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association would exhibit photos in districts, Thu Duc city, universities, export processing zones - industrial parks, to spread to the people about the lives of soldiers and civilians on Truong Sa island and DK1 platform.
