Following up on creative competitions and AI-generated artwork competitions both domestically and internationally, with many famous works such as: Jason M. Allen's work *Theatre D'opéra Spatial* , created using the AI image generator Mid Journey, won first prize at the Colorado State Fair's annual art competition [1] in 2022; the photo "The Electrician" won the Sony World Photography Award [2] in the creative category in 2023…, Saigon International University (SIU) is organizing the "Painting with AI 2024" competition for junior and senior high school students nationwide.
"Painting with AI 2024" is a creative painting competition using AI-generated software. "Painting with AI" aims to discover, reward, and nurture students with artistic and technological talents, while also encouraging them to learn about art, science, and technology, helping them excel in related subjects at the secondary school level. From there, the competition inspires students to love exploring and researching art, science, and technology, especially artificial intelligence, in order to make a positive contribution to building and developing future society.
For the preliminary round, contestants can register and submit their entries by April 29, 2024. Contestants are free to choose their own software to create their artwork and submit their entries via the website: https://aiart.siu.edu.vn. Some free software options include: Stable Diffusion, Adobe Firefly, Bing Image Creator, Starry AI, Night Cafe, etc.
In the Final Round, contestants will compete live at SIU, consisting of two parts: creating artwork on a computer using the AI Mid Journey software with an account provided by the Organizing Committee and presenting their artwork to determine the winner in each category.
The Organizing Committee will provide guidance on the software and its usage for the competition in two forms: in-person instruction at Saigon International University (11 Tong Huu Dinh Street, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) or via an online platform for all contestants.
The submitted artwork must be created by the contestant using AI-generated software as specified by the Organizing Committee. Entries must not be imitations or redraws based on existing paintings or works by other authors. Contestants must comply with the rules and regulations of the competition and the Vietnamese Law on Intellectual Property.
