On the morning of May 22nd, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, in coordination with relevant units, carried out the forced demolition of a tall, beautiful, and famous white villa in Quarter 4, An Thoi Ward, former Phu Quoc City (now An Thoi Ward, Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, An Giang Province).
The white villa was built by Mr. Vo Tan Th. (in An Thoi, Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone) on an area of nearly 1.6 hectares, of which nearly 0.5 hectares are state-managed land and more than 1 hectare is managed by the 5th Naval Region Command.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone mobilized numerous forces and specialized machinery to dismantle the villa, restoring the land to its original state.
Before the forced eviction, the owner had moved the furniture out of the villa.

On the same day, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone carried out enforcement actions against 18 households (in An Thoi) for illegally occupying land, with a total area of over 7,840 m² .
The leaders of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone stated that this decisive enforcement action demonstrates effective land management and construction order on the island, and aims to prevent the recurrence of illegal occupation of state-managed land.
