According to Booking.com's 2026 Travel Trends Report, this year is considered the "Era of You." This trend is evident in how travelers plan their summer vacations, with personalized itineraries increasingly preferred over standardized schedules.
To analyze summer travel trends, Booking.com surveyed search data for trips with a stay period from June 1st to August 31st, 2026, based on searches conducted from April 10th to May 10th, 2026.
The results show that coastal destinations continue to dominate. Da Nang, in particular, maintains its number one position on the list of most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese tourists this summer.
Following Da Nang are Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Hoi An, Hanoi , Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon, and Ha Long.
Notably, Da Nang's appeal is not only evident in the overall rankings but also appears consistently across all visitor groups. The central coastal city tops the search lists for families, couples, groups, and even solo travelers.
Among families, the top 5 most searched destinations are Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Vung Tau, and Phu Quoc. For couples, the order is Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Lat, and Hoi An.
Among group travelers, Da Nang continues to lead ahead of Da Lat, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, and Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, solo travelers also prioritize Da Nang, followed by Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, and Hoi An.
These figures show that Da Nang is a rare destination that can simultaneously meet many different needs, from relaxation and cultural exploration to culinary enjoyment and convenient transportation.

Looking at current tourism trends, Da Nang's return to the top spot is not entirely surprising.
Data from Booking.com shows that travelers are increasingly returning to familiar destinations that are easy to plan and minimize travel complications. These are the advantages that Da Nang possesses.
For many years, this coastal city in Central Vietnam has developed a comprehensive tourism infrastructure, diverse accommodation services, and convenient connectivity with many other localities nationwide. In addition, it boasts beautiful beaches, a climate suitable for relaxation, and a variety of tourism products catering to different groups of visitors.
Not only does Da Nang lead in search rankings, but it also records very strong actual growth in the number of tourists. According to the socio-economic report for the first five months of 2026 by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, tourism continues to be the city's most outstanding highlight.
In May alone, accommodation establishments served approximately 1.78 million guests, an increase of nearly 29% compared to the same period last year. Of these, international visitors accounted for 872,000, an increase of over 31%; and domestic visitors accounted for 906,000, an increase of nearly 27%.
In the first five months of the year, the total number of overnight visitors reached approximately 7.74 million, an increase of 20.9% compared to the same period in 2015. International visitors alone accounted for over 4.18 million, continuing to be a key driver of growth for Da Nang's tourism industry.
According to the city's tourism industry, this result stems from Da Nang's continuous organization of cultural events, festivals, sports, and stimulus programs since the beginning of the year. The city entered the summer season with a series of activities themed "Da Nang - Touching the Original," along with many outstanding programs such as the "Colors of Quang Nam" exhibition, "Vietnam's Crossroads," the Da Nang Ao Dai Festival 2026, the opening ceremony of the Da Nang beach tourism season 2026, and the "Peaceful Homeland" art gala...
Alongside these are a series of new products such as Ba Na Sun Fest, Animal Actors Show at Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park, and Da Nang Food Tour 2026, contributing to refreshing the visitor experience.
