Unlocking inter-regional potential
Ms. Vo Ngoc Anh, General Director of FVG Travel Group Joint Stock Company, said that the company is investing heavily in riverside and waterway tourism in the Nam Hoi An City tourist urban area.
The Nam Hoi An marina is now operational, integrated into the model urban tourism ecosystem, serving a river cruise experience route from Hoi An Ancient Town to Bay Mau coconut forest, Vinpearl Nam Hoi An, and other riverside service and entertainment complexes.
Regarding the above project, FVG Travel is working with local authorities and relevant agencies to promote the development of a master plan for the inter-regional waterway tourism route along the Thu Bon River.

In addition, the unit is leveraging the regional advantages after the merger by developing a "3 destinations - 1 journey" tour model connecting Hoi An Ancient Town - My Son Sanctuary - Dong Giang Heaven's Gate Eco-tourism Area with a 3-day 2-night or 2-day 1-night combo package. Furthermore, there is the Fivimec International Medical Complex combining medical care and medical tourism...
Located on the same "heritage route" National Highway 14G as the Dong Giang Heaven's Gate Eco-tourism Area is the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park Tourist Area.
During the 2025 summer tourism season, this company will launch many products such as: the God of Wealth parade with the 12 zodiac animals, the Animal Actor show, and sports packages including pickleball, tennis, and football with modern, standard playing fields to serve tourists... in addition to core services such as hot spring baths and the largest mountain water park in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, the upstream area of the Cu De River in Hoa Bac commune, formerly Hoa Vang district (now Hai Van ward), has developed tourism activities before, during, and after the merger with the establishment of Hoa Bac Ecological Agriculture and Community Tourism Cooperative, Ta Lang - Gian Bi Ecological Agriculture and Community Tourism Cooperative, etc.
With the attention and support from the city government and various organizations, the local people here have become local guides, leading tourists to experience the unique values of Co Tu culture and the beauty of the mountains and forests.

Established in March 2025, the Hoa Chau Ecological Agricultural Community Tourism Cooperative implements sustainable tourism products in the Phong Nam Cultural Tourism Village (Hoa Xuan Ward).
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhan, the manager of the cooperative, said: "The tourist space in Phong Nam is a collection of long-standing values, conveniently located along National Highway 1A, suitable for tourists who want to return to rural memories through activities like catching snails, picking vegetables, flying kites, etc."
Following the merger of Quang Nam and Da Nang, Mr. Nhan hopes this will be an opportunity for tourism products in the ancient land of Phong Nam to become more widely known on the tourism map.

The merger of Quang Nam and Da Nang is not only an important administrative event but also a strategic turning point to promote inter-regional tourism development, form new value chains, and create breakthrough competitive advantages.

Overcoming competitive pressure
According to Ms. Le Thi Bich Huong, Director of Communications & Marketing at the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park Tourist Area, the merger of Da Nang and Quang Nam opens up many opportunities for sustainable tourism development for the (new) city of Da Nang and is an opportunity for tourism businesses to boost infrastructure development and launch many new tourism products.
However, alongside the opportunities for tourism development come challenges, including competition.
Mr. Le Tan Thanh Tung, Deputy General Director of VITRACO Tourism, Transportation and Services Company, observed: "After the administrative reorganization, not only Quang Nam - Da Nang but also other provinces and cities nationwide have benefited from the combined tourism resources from the localities before the merger. This has created inevitable competition in the tourism sector."

Based on the above analysis, Mr. Tung suggested that Quang Nam tourism in the new phase needs to strive to create new tourism products based on existing potential. For example, cultural "software" from the past, such as Cham music and dance at My Son Sanctuary or Bai Choi singing in Hoi An, should be brought into museums in Da Nang to supplement nightly tourism activities.
"In addition, Da Nang should research and promote health tourism, or more specifically, medical tourism – a direction that the Hue tourism industry has successfully implemented. Da Nang previously had good medical facilities, technology, and a customer base, but lacked the space and personnel to provide services – something that Quang Nam previously had," Mr. Tung emphasized.
A collaborative effort between the government and tourism businesses is needed to leverage Da Nang's tourism ecosystem, with its rich cultural and historical heritage and abundant natural resources. This will enable the continued development of even more unique tourism products and activities for both domestic and international visitors.
