Da Nang strengthens management of construction materials quality

The Department of Construction requires investors, supervision consultants, construction contractors and construction material production and trading establishments in the area to strictly implement regulations on management and use of construction materials to ensure the quality and sustainability of the works.

The investor uses materials with clear origin and source, meeting technical standards and regulations; resolutely does not use poor quality materials. The city encourages the priority of locally produced, environmentally friendly materials such as artificial sand and recycled materials such as ash, slag, waste rock and soil, etc.

The supervising consultant unit is responsible for strictly controlling materials brought into the project, promptly reporting to the authorities if violations are detected; resolutely refusing to accept items that do not meet technical requirements or do not comply with construction procedures.

The contractor shall proactively test and inspect the quality of materials before and during construction; absolutely shall not use substandard materials or materials without valid documents.

Construction material production and trading establishments complete legal documents, strictly comply with regulations on environment, labor safety, price announcement and product standards. Promote the application of advanced technology, energy saving, use of industrial and urban waste in production to move towards sustainable and environmentally friendly development.

The Department of Construction coordinates with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations of regulations on management and use of construction materials.
