The unique art installation space 'The Story of the Fishing Village'

Within the framework of the Da Nang Enjoyment Festival 2025, the art installation space "The Story of the Fishing Village" at Man Thai beach (Son Tra) abstractly and evocatively recreates the rhythm of life, community cohesion, and the connection between the people of the fishing village and the sea. Inspired by the working life, daily activities, and beliefs of fishermen in the Da Nang coastal region, the space is built with four main themes: Fishing Waves, Venturing Out to Sea, Salty Flavors, and Mural Garden.

With the theme "Waves of Fish," over 1,600 fish sculptures made of wood and other materials, measuring 4.5m high, 5.5m wide, and 5.7m long, are arranged on top of a traditional basket boat, combined with blue LED lighting to create a magical lighting space that reflects the rhythm of life at sea at night.

Meanwhile, the theme "Setting Sail" depicts the journey of fishermen venturing out to sea in search of fish. Sails billowing in the wind, images of boats heading out to sea at dawn or returning at sunset are vividly portrayed through art installations and lighting effects. This spatial arrangement evokes a powerful message about the aspirations and aspirations of an entire community deeply connected to the sea.

“The Salty Flavor” is an art installation that recreates the life after each fishing trip through a concentric circle – a symbol of the bond and the sustainable cycle of survival between humans and the sea. In particular, the “Story of the Fishing Village” art space is even more vibrant with performances of Ba Trao singing – a folk art form associated with the worship of the Whale God and traditional fishing rituals – and performances of traditional musical instruments. The “Story of the Fishing Village” art installation will be held from June 19th to 23rd; the art installation will be displayed from 8 AM to 10 PM, while Ba Trao singing and instrumental performances will take place from 8 PM to 9 PM.
