According to him, no matter where they live, overseas Vietnamese always look towards their homeland with affection, a spirit of preserving cultural identity, and a desire to contribute to the country's development.

As a representative of overseas Vietnamese attending the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, how do you feel about the role of the overseas Vietnamese community in strengthening national unity today?

I believe that the Vietnamese community abroad today is not only an inseparable part of the nation, but is also becoming a very important resource in the country's development and integration process.

Having lived, worked, and participated in community work in Japan for many years, I have come to realize that the feelings of patriotism and love for their homeland among Vietnamese expatriates are always very deep.

Wherever they are, the Vietnamese community abroad always aspires to preserve their cultural identity and the Vietnamese language, while also contributing to their homeland in various ways.

In the current context, as the country enters a new stage of development with higher demands for international integration, science and technology, and global connectivity, the role of overseas Vietnamese becomes even more important.

Beyond contributing to the economy , knowledge, and people-to-people diplomacy, the Vietnamese community abroad also serves as a bridge to spread the image of Vietnam, its people, and its culture to the world.

I believe that this Congress continues to clearly affirm the spirit of national unity, in which the Vietnamese community abroad is an important component of that unity.

Over the years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has had many activities connecting with the Vietnamese community abroad. According to you, what do overseas Vietnamese currently hope for from the Fatherland Front and domestic policies so that they can be more closely connected and contribute more effectively to their homeland?

In my opinion, what the Vietnamese community abroad desires most is genuine connection, attentive listening, and long-term support.

In recent years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has carried out many meaningful activities in connecting overseas Vietnamese, creating a space for the community to participate, contribute ideas, share initiatives, and accompany activities in the country. This has created a great deal of closeness and trust.

However, in the context of an increasingly diverse community in terms of generations, occupations, and geographical locations, I believe it is necessary to continue innovating methods of connection in a more flexible and effective way, especially by strengthening the application of digital platforms to maintain regular interaction with overseas Vietnamese.

In addition, the community also desires more specific support mechanisms to leverage its strengths in areas such as education, science and technology, entrepreneurship, investment, cultural promotion, and the Vietnamese language.

Specifically in our field, through the Global Network for Teaching Vietnamese Language and Culture, we can see that when given the opportunity to connect, Vietnamese communities in many countries are willing to work together to implement very practical activities such as book launches, seminars, training in Vietnamese language teaching, and cultural exchange programs. These activities not only contribute to spreading the Vietnamese language but also strengthen the spirit of solidarity within the Vietnamese community abroad.

From this Congress, what opportunities and conditions does he expect the Vietnamese community abroad to have in order to accompany and contribute to the development of the country and strengthen national unity?

I expect that after this Congress, the role of the Vietnamese community abroad will continue to receive stronger attention, not only in terms of advocacy and networking, but also in effectively leveraging the resources of overseas Vietnamese in the overall development strategy of the country.

I hope there will be more mechanisms to enable overseas Vietnamese to participate more deeply in areas where the community has strengths, such as education, digital transformation, innovation, cultural exchange, and people-to-people diplomacy.

In particular, I expect there will be more policies to support the preservation of the Vietnamese language and national cultural identity within the Vietnamese community abroad, especially for the younger generation. Because preserving the Vietnamese language is not just about preserving a language, but also about preserving our roots and maintaining the connection between generations of Vietnamese people and their homeland.

Furthermore, I also hope to further strengthen the links between overseas Vietnamese delegates who are members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, thereby forming a network connecting countries and regions to share experiences, coordinate activities, and create a collective strength in community work.

When the Vietnamese community abroad is more closely connected, listened to, and given the opportunity to develop their abilities, I believe that the great national unity will continue to be firmly consolidated, making an important contribution to the country's development in the new era.
