In 2024, Dong Thap University had 5 associate professors, 2 PhDs, and recruited 12 new PhDs in various disciplines. Additionally, the university spent 2.95 billion VND to reward these 19 associate professors and PhDs in order to attract highly qualified personnel.

Specifically, in 2024, Dong Thap University added 19 associate professors and PhD holders. Of these, 5 PhD holders who were recognized as associate professors received financial support of 250 million VND each; and 2 PhD holders received 25 million VND each to encourage master's degree holders to pursue doctoral studies.
In particular, the university also implements a policy of attracting and rewarding highly qualified human resources. For the recruitment of 12 new PhD holders, depending on the recruitment policy, the university provides financial support ranging from 50 to 250 million VND per person.
The total amount of money awarded to associate professors and doctors in this round of 2024 is 2.95 billion VND.

Associate Professor Ho Van Thong, Rector of Dong Thap University, said that in 2024 the university will have 5 more associate professors, bringing the total number of university staff with the title of associate professor to 18.
"This result is a significant milestone in improving the number and quality of faculty members who meet the standards for the associate professor title and promoting the professional development of the school, ensuring scientific and quality standards," Mr. Thong said.
On this occasion, the university also paid tribute to Mr. Luong Thanh Tan - former acting rector of Dong Thap University - who retired after 41 years of service, and inaugurated the plaque honoring professors and associate professors of Dong Thap University.
